Project Farm determined that the Stanley blades are the best bang for the bucks:

Thanks, OP.

I've bought these sale items in the past. Mostly good quality, except the Stanley blades. I've found them to dull rather quickly. I personally prefer Irwin blades.

Comes in handy to:

- lift old stuck windows
- remove nails
- pry baseboard and molding
- use to get a little more reach to clean gutters ( old used narrow street hockey sticks work great for this).

There are better tools to do each of these jobs. This is one tool though that gets many jobs done.
Thanks. I just feel like breaking into places when I think of pry bar. Too many movies I guess lol

Thanks. I usually pick up 2 of the tape measures when they put them for this price. If you constantly open your tape above 20 feet they tend to wear out quickly, i dont care how much you pay or brand you get. I used to spend alot more but lately been getting these. The 2 of them last a year i then buy 2 more. $10 for a year of something i use damn near every single day isnt bad. Alot cheaper than a 1-6 inch starrett micrometer set.

I know it's a must have tool but unless you are a prying prick, what actual uses does one have for a pry bar. Tempted.
I usually use a painter's 5-in-1 and hammer for a lot of prying/leverage jobs, but the last time a pry bar came in super useful for me was separating asphalt chunks in a driveway apron I was replacing. You can get one wedged underneath 2 inch roadworks and ream on it with a heavy mallet to loosen things up for demolition

I have had mixed results with these Stanley razor blades. I have bought the Stanley utility blades 3 times at ACE in the last couple years, because this is a routinely recurring sale.
All 3 times the packaging and the blades were stamped differently, and the grinds were different each time. Hell, twice I got made in the USA of global materials, and once they were made in England.

Get a single set home and make sure you are happy with their quality control before clearing your store out stocking up on them.

I still have 95% of my irwin blades from several years ago why do I have the urge to buy this.
I use Irwin blades in my box cutters and they're great as long as you're just using them to cut/break down boxes. Other uses (such as post processing 3D prints) they chip and dull quickly.

This deal has been waiting for me. I have the old one, which is terrible. It looks like they have worked out the kinks with this one.

The main reason I have so many Irwin blades left is because I've stopped using it on boxes. I've discovered that dulls them fast and the tap knife that use razor blades are much cheaper and effective for boxes. Just my thought, there's a crow/pry/wonder bar in Dollar tree which seems to be good as well. Try Before they make out to dollar tree plus or some new name. Price being increased to $1.25 I believe.

I heard about this too. Apparently it's been an issue long before inflation got really bad. Hopefully it won't happen anytime soon.

On the other hand, Five Below sells things at $10+...which makes a ton of sense. Lol

Those blades will last about 5 minutes each on pretty much any job... Get higher quality blades or waste time constantly swapping these out

Made in USA of global materials probably means the blades come from China and the plastic dispenser comes from China and they put them in a package in the U.S.
