i have the half gallon versions.

it is very easy to cross thread the top so it doesnt seal right. i learned to turn the top a couple revolutions counter-clockwise so the top will sink down and seat right then turn clockwise to tighten.
Just and FYI for folks out there I have the half gallon and it leaks pretty badly from the lid, even tightened down as tight as you can get it. Several reviewers on their website say the same thing.
I have 6 of the half gallon version and I've never had an issue with leaking except when I forget to tighten the drinking cap. These roll around in my Jeeps and motorcycle hard bags. I love the smaller versions and I will now try these

These guys are better then RTIC, been using it in South FL construction for a while it outlasted all my other gallon jugs
I missed on the RTIC deal couple of years back, so if you're vouching on this being better than RTIC, then that makes me feel good trying this one out! =)

Can these be safely used to store distilled and remineralized water for 2-3 weeks at a time?

I have a Takeya 1/2 gallon and am on the fence whether to buy these or not.

Anyone know about the seal quality. The price of these make them cheaper then plastic food storage containers for dog treats.

If I remember right, this one a lot of people complained leaked And if I remember right I read reviews and concluded the seal was annoying and could come out of place easily, but if you just made sure seal was in order when screwing it shut it would be fine. Also, just learn not to derail the seal, which is on the easy side.

This has only 2 reviews. It looks like the same one they had before which had many reviews. Looks like they relisted it as a new item and all the old reviews are gone.

The current one star review says it rusts. If you get these you should check for that. If it's 18/8 it shouldn't rust.

I'm not one of those people who hates stuff made in china, but I've seen similar issues in chinese made flatware. 18/0 flatware will rust some. 18/10 flatware shouldnt rust. I've seen a fair number of reviews on flatware made in china that was supposed to be 18/10 report they were rusting. That means whatever factories in china making them are cheating and using low grade steel, either without the main companies knowledge, or with an eye wink.
i have owned two of these for two years now and they take abuse and never leak. They are identical to the sucker priced yet one save for the logo.

I will never give up my YETI even though they are over priced. Their 30oz Rambler cups are the best cups I've ever owned. I can fill it with ice and a drink and the ice will stay in there all day even until morning. Some days, I've leave it in a hot car for hours and it's still full of ice and the drink is cold. I just can't bring myself around to buy their expensive coolers. My neighbor has a few but then again he's nearly a billionaire.
I've done the exact same thing with my Ozark trail and RTIC, they are all identical. Yeti is a knock off of thermos anyway.

Good to know! I can't be having that happening, as i pack my water in my backpack full of electronics (for work). My boss would tear me a new asshole.
