Slickdeals RSS URLs not loading properly in Outlook PC client (2019 version)

946 222 December 8, 2021 at 04:44 PM
Not sure if this is a lack of support by Outlook for SD's RSS configuration but I cannot add Slickdeals RSS URLs to my locally installed Outlook client. It says, "cannot process RSS content".

See attached file for error screenshot.

I used to have the Freebies forum loaded in Outlook RSS feed folder, so I know it used to work. But last time I had it loaded was a long while ago.

Any suggestions?

Hi Sydd_Gribbler,

We checked out the RSS feed at w3 validator and it checks out: https://validator.w3.org/feed/check.cgi?url=https%3A%2F%2Fslickdeals.net%2Fnewsearch.php%3Fsearchin%3Dfirst%26forumchoice%255B%255D%3D4%26rss%3D1

We think it is most likely outlook rss feed service having issues, one possibility seems to be cause of HTTPS: https://stackoverflow.com/questio...-rss-feeds

Would you mind trying another RSS feed service?

Cheers,

Thank you for the reply. I did try it with http and https and no change. I figured it was Outlook issue but thanks for confirming. I'll look into another app/service.
