Forgive my ignorance, I haven't dealt with Pc power supplies in years. Is this an ATX power supply? I've got some extra car speakers and was thinking about making a radio for the garage.

I had a 700w version act up a bit when I had it on a GFI circuit with no ground. It was a heavily OC Ryzen 2700 and a Radeon 590 OC. That said, in for 3.

Thermaltake psu are legit. Used a 600w in my main rig for years and just upgraded to 700w. Not sure what kinda rig a 500w would make sense for

It's $15 so that's appropriate.

My living room PC is pushing 9 years on its PSU, what are the signs I should replace before explosion?

i had a different brand "smart" psu (cooler master) and you could audibly hear the fan start up each time it kicked in. was way louder and more annoying than any traditional non-smart psu so i returned it. just my 2 cents. this model may be different.
