Yes, it has.
Wow. This is a great price. I think it was around $170 last year. Great drive to load Steam games on.
Finally the 2TB are going down in price.

I use 3.5in disks for mass storage, and that's about it these days.

MX500 has low endurance compared to other TLC drives even some QLC drives.

2TB MX500 700TBW
2TB 860/870 EVO 1200TBW
2TB 860/870 QVO (QLC Memory) 720TBW
You are not wrong; however, the MX500 tends to be cheaper than the EVO 860/870. I am not sure about the QVO. I have not looked into that drive.

Either way most users probably will not be affected by it. To reach that 700 TBW limit within the 5 year warranty, you would have to write nearly 384 GB a day. Most people will not come anywhere near that amount of data transfer. To reach the 700 TBW limit in 20 years, you would have to write nearly 96 GB a day. Again, this is a much higher volume of data than the average use case. With the progression of technology, it is highly unlikely that someone will consistently use one of these drives for 15-20 years.

So, despite being a lower TBW limit, it is still an excellent drive for SATA3.

in term of price... keep in mind 1T M470 PCI-E 4.0 nvme drive were about 80 dollar after rebate, so this isn't that amazing per se.
i am glad to see the price of SSD are approaching the harddrives, espeically as someone who use to spend 300 dollar on a 128G SSD about 12 years ago. that said, i think the 2.5 inch disk are much like 3.5 inch disk.. they are on the way out.
Good point on the price per space. I got the 1T sabrent for $75 after rebate
Though the pro of this is 2TB all in one unit and I have unused SATA ports on my desktop while only Two m.2 slots that are filled up. guess I could consider a m.2 expansion card 🤔

Yes 700 TBW is low for a TLC drive like this. It all depends on how it's going to be used. I tracked my typical TBW over the past 2 years and I average 9 TBW/year. At this rate it's going to take me 77 years to get to the 700 TBW. Now, some stress tests (don't know if it would apply to this drive, too) seem to suggest that drives typically can tolerate a whole lot more than the TBW being advertised. Anyway, I only view it as an indicator for longevity/quality. So yeah, it's low, but I feel like my usage is generally low enough where I probably don't care too much. A drive failure is of course always inconvenient, but at least for me it's most likely not going to fail due to excessive wear.

Ebay is good about covering you when you are flat-out defrauded, ie. you never receive anything and the seller never ships. What may happen in this case is you may get an SSD but it works so-so. In other words, it loses data constantly and has bad sectors, etc. I'm not sure Ebay would be willing to cover such a situation. You can ship it back. But that has more problems than just shipping it back to China. Last Christmas season I had a shipment coming from China. It had tracking but the tracking ended after leaving US customs. Everything went fine until it was released from US customs. I waited another seven weeks until I received it. I don't think the US mail service is picking such packages up in a timely manner and that constitutes the main roadblock. Ebay only gives you two months from ordering something to make a claim. Actually, I did take a chance and ordered one of these but not from this dealer. Mine is a 1 TB Sata SSD drive for about $45. I'll put the link below. I ordered it yesterday and I'll probably have quite a wait. It has tracking but probably like last time it stops after leaving customs. Normally, it used to take about 3 weeks for shipments from China. With today's Post Office and the pandemic, it's anybody's guess. He has shipped it. I'm willing to take a chance with what appears to be a somewhat reputable dealer.

"Fast drive" and "SATA3" can't be in one sentence nowadays. All of them reach +/- 500-550 MB\S SATA3 interface limit. In another hand, it doesn't mean that it's a bad deal. Personally, I am using 256GB Samsung fast NVMe SSD for OS, Software and few games + 2TB Micron SATA SSD for everything else..... bought it for 350$ about 3 years ago.
What really made SSDs so much faster than hard drives, in terms of perception, wasn't sequential throughput, but latency. That's why the jump to NVMe SSDs isn't as big, in terms of perception, as the jump from hard drives to SATA SSDs. Most people won't notice a difference between a SATA SSD and an NVMe SSD unless they are running benchmarks.
