For those wondering. This is for pruning a tree not a bush.

Good deal for the pack. These rarely are on sale and are handy in spring. (For those with trees too big for the lopper but too small to pull out the chain saw for.)

These blades last a while. (As a matter of fact I'm still using a blade with about 50-80 2in-6in wood cuts.) The only down side is the carbide blades are twice as thick as the standard blades. In some dense woods it'll bog down the recepricating saw.

Agree that these are great blades. I cut out all of the bushes in my lawn and the actual cutting was the easiest part. They don't work well on stuff less than two inches in diameter. Use loppers on those cuts.

So, just to clarify, since you can barely see in the photo, this is meant to be at Home Depot, right? No store listed in the title or post, no links for reference to their website, not even a courtesy link to Brickseek to check local zip codes?

HD is mentioned in the body of the post, and the SKUs he listed are HD SKUs. A BS link would be useless because the SKUs are for the single blade versus these promotional 2 packs.

Added HD to the title to clarify. Thanks for bring up this.

As stated by ay8080, Brickseek won't work because the SKU is not showing or messed up on HD website.

Right now is in-store only and I spotted on the front aisle with all these holiday promoted products.

Thanks @highland1024

I couldn't find it in the hardware section, but a wise patient employee told me about the 'racetrack' in front of the store. The special packages were hidden in back of the single blades.

Regarding model identification, i bought the 9" blades and model identifier had an extra 'P' added as compared to the original posting.

"2-pack 9" blades are priced at $8.97 , SKU 1002-558-202 (can't locate on HD website), model # DS0903CP"

I do not like the carbide blades for fast wood cutting. The tooth spacing is not large enough for efficient chip removal and the teeth are thicker resulting in greater heat which causes any sap or resin to gum up on the blade slowing the cut.

ThisOldTony on youtube just tested some pruning blades (not his usual fare), but he found a manually operated silky brand saw to be faster than a recip saw with either a silky blade or a pruning blade. YMMV.

Works fine on bushes of larger dimension

Good to know. I started from similiar manual japanese pruning saw and it's really efficient.

It didn't count in fatigue though. With sawzall and pruning blade,I am now used to make hundreds of pruning/root cuts on a weekend day (consumes 2-3 carbide blades). I can't/won't make that many cuts using manual saw.

These are great to assist in old yew removals as you can use them to cut roots of a good size with sone digging. Makes a god awful job instead just a hard job.

I bought a pair of 12" blades a few months ago.

Unfortunately they were too thick to fit in my cheap, $20 reciprocating saw from Harbor Freight Tools :-(

Anyone else had this problem?

These are three teeth per inch and you would like larger spacing?

Maybe a dumb question but will these be able to mill a small 1ft length with the grain of oak I have cut? Not looking for precision cuts.. just want to mill it down

Physically (as long as the area your cutting is not longer than the blade) it can do it if you can mount the wood on something stable and secure. Problem is it'd massacre the wood. It'd be difficult to cut straight so it'd end up wavy, and choppy. It'd look rough w.o a lot of finish work.

That's a good description of sawzall finishes!
