Yeah, I saw this one and X81CH is one of the cheapest and worst TVs coming from an amazing brand like Sony.

7.5 is crappy? How much did TCL pay you to post?
This is an entry level 4K TV from Sony (2020 model), with this price @ $699 for 65 inch, this is far better than Hisense U7G. I know LG C1 65 inch, being OLED is the best among your 3 options but even with a best deal within a year, the LG C1 still won't be able to beat the Sony with what you will be getting at this price point, so not worth waiting for a LG C1 deal unless you can spend more. I bought a Samsung Q60A 65 inch which is again an entry level QLED @ $850 , but when compared on color accuracy even with calibration done in the Samsung Q60A, the Sony clearly wins, for some reason their X1 processor and Triluminous Technology really performs well on the color accuracy section, though it is not that great with dark scene being a IPS panel. I would recommend, you go for the 2021 model of Sony X80J 65 inch at the same $699 at Beetbuy or Amazon, which will have Google TV instead of the Android TV os. Don't take my words, you just go to a Bestbuy to see the difference yourself before you buy. Best if luck.

Surprising that Sony would make such a crappy TV.

X81CH at Costco is 2020 vintage, X80J is 2021. Same price at Amazon/Best Buy/Costco. I just got the X80J a week ago for$50 higher, but I love it so far

If similar to x800H, I am guessing this is a IPS panel

Yes IPS panel... and the X81CH is the Costco version of the X800H as noted in the "Differences Between Sizes And Variants" section of the attached Rtings Review.

Also to add the X80J (2021) model has Google TV for an OS as oppsed to Android. And the X80J comes with a built in ATSC 3.0 tuner (the new next gen tv). Pretty nice bonus for those who utilize ota tv.

Thanks for the post. My family bought two tvs during Black Friday. I just helped them get the price adjustment on Costco's website.

Rting os not reliable. I looked at many TV in costco. This Tv deserve better scores. Just because it is IPS and sacrifices contrast for wide view angle dows not mean this is bad TV. I looked at highly ranked ones by rting and tgey indeed has very unclear poctures. It depends what you want. Rting makes money from where????
