I heard this can cut open amazon boxes 📦
Literally anything you would need to cut. A knife is probably one of the most practical things in existence
Bottom line -- If you're happy with your $20 - $50 knives, you don't need anything else.

I've always bought Gerber. My StrongArm is amazing and easily the best knife I've ever used.

Is this one better for those who have used both? Thanks!

Saving for an OTF Benchmade or Microtech, but it's great to see good knife deals like this.

This would be a great gift! (grab a coin if feeling superstitious or traditional)
You might consider adding axial to brands you consider unless like Benchmade, the brand means more to you. I bought the shift, it's a fantastic OTF...

Thanks OP. Unaware these were being discontinued but probably a situation like the Adamas where they came back and changed the blade steel and finish. Either way, you caused me to hunt down a full-size tanto and sure enough, someone had one on sale. You da man (or woman).

I like to compare it to watches. A $40 Timex tells the same time as a $300 Citizen or a $10,000 Rolex. There are some benefits to the more expensive options (build quality, materials, brand recognition) that may or may not be worthwhile depending on what you want or need. I love my <$100 watches for daily use because I don't have to worry if I ding them up. But when I go somewhere nice (date nights, weddings, celebrations, etc), I like that I have a few dressy watches to choose from. Still, I don't think I'll ever spend more than $300 or so on a watch.

I have a small collection of knives. Some cost <$20, others were well over $100, but most are somewhere in between. The ~$50 price point is probably the sweet spot for value per dollar, as the Kershaw Leek is my favorite EDC knife - it has good steel, a nice slim design, and handles most daily tasks I need it for -- but isn't so expensive that I'd be terribly upset if I lost or broke it.

With that being said, I really do appreciate the premium steel & construction quality of my Spyderco Sliverax. There's no way I needed to spend $150+ on that knife, but it was a treat to myself, and the features it offered were worth the price to me. This $100+ Benchmade is in the same ballpark: bit more durable & rugged than my Kershaw, with better quality steel, a well-engineered locking mechanism, and excellent overall design & ergonomics. It won't cut twice as well as the $50 Kershaw, but there are enough improvements in the design that it would be worth the price to a discerning buyer.
thank you very much. I have the leek too but I just forgot the name haha

I bought one. I couldn't resist. My gift to me. And to everyone that says that a $50 knife does the same. But, you don't wear the same shoes that you use for work to go to church do you? That's my excuse to buying the knife. If anyone else needs an excuse to buy one let me know and I will find one for you.
