Is this one better for those who have used both? Thanks!
This would be a great gift! (grab a coin if feeling superstitious or traditional)
I have a small collection of knives. Some cost <$20, others were well over $100, but most are somewhere in between. The ~$50 price point is probably the sweet spot for value per dollar, as the Kershaw Leek is my favorite EDC knife - it has good steel, a nice slim design, and handles most daily tasks I need it for -- but isn't so expensive that I'd be terribly upset if I lost or broke it.
With that being said, I really do appreciate the premium steel & construction quality of my Spyderco Sliverax. There's no way I needed to spend $150+ on that knife, but it was a treat to myself, and the features it offered were worth the price to me. This $100+ Benchmade is in the same ballpark: bit more durable & rugged than my Kershaw, with better quality steel, a well-engineered locking mechanism, and excellent overall design & ergonomics. It won't cut twice as well as the $50 Kershaw, but there are enough improvements in the design that it would be worth the price to a discerning buyer.
