1. Turned the phone on without sim
---- Connect to WIFI --
2. Went to Settings, Connections
3. Select Network Unlock
4. Select Permanent Unlock
5. Done
6. Update to Android 11
7. Check with a non-TMO SIM to see if you can make and receive calls.
I think it's still a good phone for $250 but just know there are issues with it.

If I were running a phone company, I'd introduce new specs every iteration, just like all of them do. Because you want to be able to assert your new model is better. It doesn't mean the new model is actually better in any way that matters.
You're the one who brought up the fact that specs don't matter not me now you're backing away. Why is that I wonder.
Have a great day
That won't change until they HAVE TO MAKE IT BETTER.

The OnePlus8 has 5G, but camera-wise, it's not really much/any improvement over the 3XL.
Oh, and the 3XL has free GooglePhotos storage. The Pixel 6 (and OnePlus) do not.
The Pixel 6 is a far better phone than the OnePlus. If this were Pixel 6 for $249.99, I'd say it's a raging deal and a good upgrade.
The OnePlus 8? Nope.

So which is it . Do specs matter or not.
Let's just forget it. This is a waste of my time
Therefore..Thanks OP..i grabbed the OnePlus T Mobile..they were out of the green and the rainbow one ughhh..so I settled for black..I bye full jacket cases anyway for them.
Also not a fan of the corner front camera placement. It's more in the way there where on screen buttons are as opposed to the center.
