only advantage with physical games is that you can sell/trade them once you are done with game. If you buy digital then you are stuck with the game forever.
Yea but the advantage with digital is you don't have to take out the game cartridge every time you want to play. Depends on what you prefer.
I've never played any of the Overcook games before. Which edition would be best playing with a 7 and 11 year old? Debating between the All you can Eat edition and Overcooked 2 Gourmet edition. I have no idea what the differences are between the games.
Thanks for any input.
Get All you Can Eat edition, has all the content from 1 and 2 and the expansions. We play it as a family and the kids enjoy it too. Will say I fell like something is off with this edition compared to Overcooked 2. Controls not as tight.

They are all good. Overcook 1 was a big hit in my house and I would play it with my 8 year old daughter all the time.
Can the kid play alone or is it only multiplayer?
Also, do I need to buy another switch to play with my kid? And if the mom has to play as well then will I need a third switch?
So, I got this for my daughter since her cousin has Overcooked 2. I was assuming that AYCE was a bundle with OC1, OC2, all the DLC etc. Nope, its just one game. Apparently she can't play with her cousin online since he has OC2 and she has AYCE.
Is there a way they can play together online without buying another copy of AYCE or OC2? I don't have any experience with the Nintendo online games system. It's been 30 years since I last played video games so I definitely have a lot of catching up to do.

Unfortunately, for this game you will either need an additional copy of AYCE (on any console as I believe they are all have cross platform play capabilities, please double check this though) or an additional copy of OC2.
To be honest, a good idea would be to purchase digital games and share the digital copy between your daughter and her cousin... unless you are a multi switch household. Let me know if you want further info on how to do this and I can point you in a few directions via PM.
