I haven't found this to be remotely the case in my use. Smooth as butter, very quick and haven't had the first bug or glitch.
Be aware that if you are a Cricket customer looking for a phone to use on their network this will NOT work starting February of 2022. It has to be the IN2015, which the T-Mobile version is not.
lol where do you people come up with this stuff. i've had it for like a month and it's fine.

I'm not into picture taking. I sometimes post stuff on marketplace with questionable lighting. I noticed going from my s10+ to a Nord N10 then a OnePlus 8 both the OnePlus, I had a hard time getting a decent pic in the same lighting. The camera just didn't seem up to par and was slower then the one in the Samsung. Even older models of Samsung I've had.
Nord N10 has inferior camera system and lacks OIS so I cannot vouch for low light captures on that device. OP 8 on the other hand can take really good pictures at low light. Again, just because an Image is underexposed, I will not say that the camera is bad. It seems many people out their judges Image quality with the image brightness. Even MKBHD's blind test proved that people prefer bright and warm images. Each company tunes the camera system differently. Samsung might be bumping the ISO to get you bright image at expense of Noise and lost details whereas OP might be underexposing to keep ISO low and preserve details. Honestly it is a subjective debate and hard to conclude unless you have side by side examples.
Anyway, if stock camera doesn't work for you or anyone, just install GCAM for your device and you will find instant gratification.

I gave them my email address in return for a $30 voucher. Instead, they sent a 10% coupon for accessories. I feel a little duped.

Even the honey plug-in is not finding a successful coupon code. Anyone have ideas?
Same - this seems pretty sketchy. There are some pretty suspect comments in this thread, plus the thumbs downs on your post. This kind of seems like a skip to me.

Does this really worth the $150 over the 8 that came out the other day for $250? It's pretty much the same species just 256G vs 128G. I am thinking to wait for the 8 to come out again.
The OnePlus 8 is back in stock.$199 with code like they had a few days ago.

Why the heck are these Android phones getting bigger and bigger. They are abnoxiously big.

Apple is taking a lead by making small powerful devices. They react faster to consumer needs which is why they succeed.
As a long time Android user, I'm very frustrated. love Android and specs, just hate the size. I currently have s20 ultra 512GB which is amazing, looking for a smaller size phone.

they need to bring back IR transmitter feature which was so cool with "peel".

lots of these new devices don't even support external memory slots.. smh (due to strict security requirements perhaps)

Take a hint Android markets.

Yes. That has been frustrating for me, And I had to move to iPhone because of this.

I switched to iPhone 13 mini as iPhone mini/ iPhone SE are the only ones around that are not these giant phones. Unfortunately as per news, Apple is not able to attract enough customers and this form factor might be nixed next year.

I like the bigger phones personally and I am guessing lots of others do too or they wouldn't move in that direction. But since this is such a huge market I would think there is a market for smaller versions of the phone like apple does. Not sure why they haven't. Maybe the pressure to come out with new models at an idiotic pace is preventing them from doing that (for whatever reason).

LOL which is it. If they make a "good" small phone and it fails to sell, is that the manufacture reacting to customer demand?

If apple is leading the way, they never had a memory slot...

At least oneplus is just making the phone longer so it still fits in your hand. Its not like the giant "XLs" that have to have an altered keyboard else you cant type with 1 thumb because the phone is too wide.

At least the phablets died, else we would end up with "phones" that are 1" smaller than ipad minis.

Totally agree. The phone runs smooth and good deal for the money. You can definitely get 2-3 years of use from this.

I think Apple has clearly been leading the way and is still continuing to. All the trends in smartphones from original iPhone to incremental changes like no more SD cards, no more headphone jacks, no more charger included, notch design, best ultrawide and night mode camera have been standardized when Apple pushed them into iPhone lines and Android has followed. Android phones have certainly pushed the envelope as well over the years with widgets and Google cross-device sync and things like water resistance and sturdy designs in some models, but these features aren't seen in flagship lines that sell in the tens of millions and become industry minimum standard until Apple does it. Every phone release is compared to iPhone so apple still sets the bar in my eyes while android lines are far more inconsistent and not the mainstream until Apple does it.

I say this as someone whose used Android since Cupcake on Samsung Galaxy 1 btw. I've owned and tried 7 different android phones over the years and at best they performed as well as the iPhone 12 Pro I got last summer does. I still miss Android sometimes, but it's easy to see why IPhones lead the way if you can afford it. They just set a really high bar that's designed for everyday use and most situations.
