We're on a deal thread for a touchscreen Chromebook. For many people on this thread, other than the crappers, the touchscreen is an important feature, otherwise they should look for lower price CHROMEBOOK with same other specs or otherwise value this a deal worth $50 or more less valuable.
Don't do istagram, only use FB for deals with NO factual info about me or "friends" I actually know, and TT is just about the last thing I would ever fathom being in to.
The Apples to Apples comparison is actually the one I gave. $313 for the same item, I got a month ago and from the same merchant. . .so that others could gauge what a better deal might be now or in the future for this same chromebook or ANOTHER CHROMEBOOK. Some BB stores currently offer the OB excellent for that same $313, but you have to search locally. Yes it was YMMV that I got a sealed unit even though OB excellent, but that is more Apples to Apples that comparing this Chromebook to Any Windows lappy. And post Christmas, many of these unopened returns should show up. . .
I have two recent HP PC lappys that I use, as well as 2 desktop PC's. What I use them for isn't what I am looking for in usage for this Chromebook. If you don't understand that scenario of having different type items (more than one) used in same household, then I guess by that logic one can't have both a tablet and a laptop either, as for the price the PC is going to have the better specs.
I don't go on windows threads and preach CB's to them. Not an Apple guy, some family members are, but again I don't go tell someone that PC's or CB's are cheaper and a thus a better deal than an Apple for same hardware specs etc. etc. either. Again, not comparible.
Point being this is a deal thread. The discussion should be limited to whether this unit is a deal or not at this price, or if you can finagle a better price for same. Period. If it's not, then say so. Show me where same Chromebook is offered cheaper elsewhere. Offer another similar Chromebook as a better deal, etc. etc. But don't come on here and say a Windows PC lappy is a better deal, as it's not comparable. This isn't to single you out personally, but rather the people who seem to think someone on a CB deal thread wants to hear about a dell PC etc. Useless info
At that price this laptop is an absolute no-brainer. The internals are just exceptional and a pleasure to use, especially with the fingerprint reader. The 250 nit 19:6 screen is definitely the worst aspect of this laptop, but if you're not picky then the rest of the laptop is great.
I personally would pick Acer 713 (ideally refurb) over this if I had to pay $450, but if you find an open box (currently none in my area) then I'd pull the trigger without hesitation!
