For what's its worth, Costco has them for $12 for 12 batteries. I have much more trust in getting authentic batteries from Costco. I looked on Amazon just a couple weeks ago and every battery I looked up had bad reviews, mostly being fake batteries.
I have the worst luck with batteries on Amazon.. always fake or dead.
Depending on where you use it, these coin batteries are not that fun to replace.

I gave up on Amazon for batteries and microSD cards.

Now I buy batteries only from authorized dealers or distributors like Digikey or Mouser--companies that have direct accounts with the battery manufacturers. The prices can be better than retail too per-unit, though shipping is higher.

Also, check out IKEA for batteries. Their prices are quite good, and the quality is decent.

Batteries are one of the few items I'd never buy from Amazon ever again. In fact my last order from Amazon was probably in 2019 due to the disappointing state and quality of products.

Exactly. My Honda key fob always breaks apart when I open it to replace battery and I have to put the pieces back together again. Annoying.

The last time I bought these they were $1.65 for 4. Thats 41 cents each. How are these a deal?
The average consumer will go to their local drugstore like CVS and pay $6 or $7 for a single Energizer 2032 battery, so getting 6 batteries for under that price is a deal. I've seen a six pack like this deal at target before for like $17!

I hear you, but were not average consumers. Based on past deals here, these don't seem to be a good deal at all. Is there a battery or lithium shortage too?

So true. Just a week back, I opened the energizer pack but batteries are dead in a week.

Ones bought from Amazon or a third party seller?

Both. It's really hit or miss. For example I've received Energizer AAs batteries which the entire packaging was in Spanish for some reason yet worked. Others from third parties didn't work at all or were dead within a few days.

My complaint is mostly on the small batteries for watches and car remotes. Usually fake.

You must have received fake ones because these last 10 years and they were introduced not that long ago.

Off-brand "button" / "watch" batteries I get on eBay or Amazon have always worked fine for me. Usually $0.25 per battery, give or take a dime, if you buy 10 or more at a time, with free shipping. Stores/manufacturers make a killing by charging $6 or $7 per single name brand battery.

The average consumer will also only need this battery once every few years. Unless you have a specific purpose for these non need to stock pile

be careful as apparently Amazon mixes in third-party- seller items with genuine.

I bought a large pack of these not long ago and they were def knock offs as they barely lasted any time at all.

My recommendation is all batteries and vitamins, stick with brick retailers as chances of them being knock offs are significantly less than amazon.
This!

This should be on the wiki of every Amazon battery post.
