My Amp is in my house and I ran speaker cable down to my pool. even at 200' of wire the system does its job. And yes it connects to whatever streaming service you use. I put an old alexa down by the pool and made the sonos amp the audio so I can just say "Alexa, play music and we have sound down by the pool.
Sonos amp retails at $700 on it's own.

Where do you put the amp? Never used their amp before. Does that connect to all the streaming services from Sonos - don't need a receiver?

This is tempting. I bought the older model of this package a few years back and the sound on these speakers is outstanding. The newer amp would be a welcome upgrade.

This is a good deal. I bought two of the older deal so I have two sets of sonance speakers and two connect amps. The speakers are pretty good. For those in need, you can power 4 of the speakers from one amp just fine - I repurposed one amp for something else.

Recently moved into a new house and got the amp delivered last week. Picked up a pair of cheap Klipsch outdoor speakers from Costco to go with it, but after seeing this, I'll be returning both in favor of this deal. Thanks OP.

Anyone know how these speakers compare to Polk Atrium 5? It's about the same price point even with this deal.

Great deal! Picked it up! I posted about this on the r/Sonos last night, but I wasn't sure why it was discounted. Not sure if they're planning on announcing a new generation, but I'll take it. The speakers come out to practically free for the price of the amp alone.

I used an Altilex outdoor enclosure. Sonos Amp has been in the enclosure for >1 year, no issues with performance, no problems with water getting inside.

For reference, look up Altilex Part No. NP17AVGY.

How much do one of these speakers typically go for?

And how would you compare the quality? Sonos one, move, five?

Same place you'd put any other amplifier or receiver. I recon most folks put it inside since it's not water resistant. You'd need a waterproof enclosure and a power source to leave it outside. But you can control it via app or voice assistant, so there's no advantage to having it outside, unless it better fits how your yard is wired.

You don't need a receiver because it works with all of these [sonos.com] streaming services. It also works with Alexa, Google Assistant, and Apple Airplay. As I said above, voice control or control via app. So you can control it from wherever.

If you want to use a receiver for whatever reason, you can because it has RCA inputs. Or you can use them for a record player or Aux. input. It also has an HDMI input for audio from ARC and eARC compatible TVs.
