I read about this some time back. Basically, CBS has pretty much said that Frasier will never be remastered to HD. Supposedly it's an expensive process. Like a lot of 90s shows, Frasier was cut on tape (as opposed to older stuff that was cut on film). To make an HD remaster, they would have to basically edit the whole series again on film. Remastering older stuff that was already cut on film is easier - cause they can just scan the original film and it's done. No editing needed. But with a series like Frasier, supposedly it costs tens of thousands of dollars per episode.
I don't know how Friends or Seinfeld were edited. But even if it were done on tape, spending a few millions of dollars for remastering them might have been worth it. They are much more popular, and definitely would be bringing in much more sales volumes. Their rerun rights also would be sold at a higher price. I doubt a case can be made to spend so much for a series like Frasier.
I'm not sure Fraiser was the niche series you're making it out to be. Yes, Friends and Seinfeld were bigger, but Fraiser was probably #4 or #5 at most. I mean, it's big enough that they're throwing millions and millions into making a new season even though the actors are all ancient and/or dead.) You don't do 264 episodes over 11 years if you're a niche show. (And it was even more massively popular in syndication over in the UK and Australia.)
It's more likely CBS is waiting for the new seasons to premier and get the interest levels higher, or they're waiting for 8k remastering machines to come down in price or whatever. (Or they're just morons.)
Actually, come to think of it I heard similar reasons given for why Star Trek: The Next Generation wasn't going to be remastered eons ago. (With the added issue of tape-only exterior shots and other issues unique to that show.) But they eventually did it, and I'm pretty sure they made more than enough profit off of it.
Man, when I was 12, I wanted to BE Alex P. Keaton

Great to see Frasier complete set finally on sale.
Had been waiting for years for a sale on the Frasier set. My favorite series. I already had it on DVD but wanted a digital version. Digital streaming was not yet a thing when I had bought the physical set. Eventually when we got spoiled by instant find and play, I started getting tired of fishing out the DVDs, and trying to remember which episode I had watched last.
Unfortunately, Frasier never ever went on sale. Most seasons were always at $15 or $20 each. Having already spent on the physical version, I couldn't get myself to buy them all digitally at full retail. I believe it's only 6 months ago or so did they finally have a digital box set available for purchase. Earlier, you could only buy each season individually.
Anyway, finally I gave up and painstakingly ripped all my 11 season DVD set and loaded it up on my Plex server. Took me days but it was worth it.
I will still buy it digitally at this price, but hoping it goes on sale on iTunes as well. Almost all of my digital purchases are there (except for Blu-ray series that only came with Vudu code). So might as well hold out. Now that one place has it finally on sale, it'll show up at the same price at other digital storefronts eventually.

Same here. Been waiting for it to go on sale forever and it just never has. For me personally, I really do wish iTunes would do better about matching.

Friends and Seinfeld both got the HD treatment, I don't know they are not remastering earlier Frasier episodes..

It's been a year since they announced the revival and Kelsey grammar is still saying In interviews that he's fine tuning the script and hopes some cast members come back. I'm getting really nervous that it's gonna hit a wall and get canceled 🙁

The humor and heart still hold up.
Going to buy off iTunes so I do not have to do with adverts on the streams or the risky aspect ratios crops.
Thanks OP. A toast of Sherry to you!
