My local warehouse had the king ones for $7.99 yesterday. Yes, they are polyester but are a soft fleece material- and they are $8! I didn't see the Q size. I think that they had them but they weren't on the endcap. My son saw mine last night and "wished he had one." Went ahead and purchased this one rather than go back to the store. The blanket was $2 more but I probably saved myself at $150 in those random things that jump into my Costco cart. LOL
Inside or outside? What temperature? Latitude and longitude? What are the prevailing winds?
100 percent polyester

Do you REALLY want to sleep underneath something THIS FLAMMABLE for 8 hours each night ? Something that would melt onto your skin like Napalm and be next to impossible to get off, even if you discovered it ? Why not just coat yourself with Sterno before you go to bed ? - Go natural fibers for sleeping.

Why there are flammability laws about mattresses, yet NOT on blankets is mindless.
Do you seriously not have a 100% cotton sheet between you and the blanket? Savages.

You are correct, I chose the wrong words. Polyester does a poor job combusting and rather melts to your skin.
Hah Hah, At this point though your hopefully most likely dead! If not I'd blame more so blame the cigarette you were smoking when you feel asleep than the blanket. These blankets are warmer in feel than other blankets like the other one posted in this thread. Feel and actual heat retention are two different things though. A thin sheet makes a difference too. If you really want warm, buy 2-3 of these and one of the others.

For washing it I've had many of these type Costco blankets and didn't have any problems with them after many drying cycles on 3-4 different dryers. use low or medium heat and you should be fine. And of course it is Costco, and in my "friends" experience they will take the return back even if it is like 10 years later and you are just trying to down size for a smaller apartment.

Got this on the bed, minimal shedding. Works great with a quilt on top and keeps me warm now that I sleep alone. Pandemic divorces driving bedding sales on goods manufactured in China. Coincidence? I think not.

Sad to see Warren succumbing to the polyester blanket trend.

Price is right for polyester.

Artificial fabrics are notoriously flammable which the industry counters with a fire retardent coating.

Unfortunately studies are starting to come in on health issues as byproduct of fire retardent coatings.

In our household we have chosen to invest in natural fabrics for those items that will be against our skin for major portions of our day.
A quick Google search tells me the opposite of what you're saying.

Lol so dramatic.

I for one will ONLY use fire extinguishers as blankets, because it's non flammable 😁

Sheet, yes. 100% cotton, no. No way I am going to iron sheets.
