This Kobalt set is a solid deal. All sockets are 6 point and the ratchets are quality. After a quick look, I couldn't find anything comparable for the same price.

I've worked on 90s/2000s japanese cars for years with just a socket set and no wrenches. Changed seats, steering wheel, replaced hood latch, adjusted hood headlights, new battery, rebuilt shifter, replaced valve cover gasket, replaced center console, changed all fluid (oil, trans, diff, coolant). So this is definitely fine for all basic automotive work for any geography.
