I am too and I've used gortex for winter running. They're not really waterproof but are indeed warmer.

That's interesting. Went up 1/2 size from Nike, and it's a snug fit on a slightly narrow foot. With a wider foot I think you're right to go a full size up.

Will they break in much? The shoes are a little stiff.

That is a tough question to answer without some kind of reference. The insole is maybe twice as thick as what came with my Adidas. It feels like regular foam...not memory foam. I usually swap it out anyway. Upper is comfy, and I'm sure it will soften up a bit as I wear them. I like the extra padding around the ankle which keeps it from sliding off my foot.

Woah these fit SMALL. Super bummed looks like .5 size up is sold out now too. Returning and will note sizing for future.

Unfortunately it looks like the price went up at some point in the past 7 days.

EDIT: Try calling ASICS on Monday, tell them you are very interested in "XXX" shoes but they are no longer at $79.99. Ask them if they could still honor the $79.99 price. If they say no, then you've only lost a few minutes of time.
