For anyone thinking to buy 2021 Hisense U6G, this is TV is way better than U6G. So buy this.
Infact if you do not care about 120Hz display and HDMI 2.1, you can better buy this than U7G.

However, I find that the Hisense 55U8G, for whatever reason, the picture quality is just somewhat better using the internal apps instead of Ruku via the HDMI 2.0 or 2.1 inputs.
It is almost as though the gamma is off a bit which results in a less saturated and slightly washed out image from the Roku no matter tweaking the settings.
My wife does not see it unless I point it out, but my eye does. It's not grossly unwatchable, but not as true as using the internal apps.
I will say that the Roku user interface is still somewhat more responsive, and way more responsive on my 2019 Hisense 55H8F. Hisense should have used a better processor in the 2019 models. .. . but to be honest, the price was only $399.99 back then. So for $400 plus $50 for a Roku Ultra (Black Friday deal), it is fine. I have an older Firestick but have not tried it yet. Not sure it is worth it at this point.
Firestick settings
On display video resolution to auto, color depth to 12 bits and changed dymanic range to adaptive. Changing the dymanic range to adaptive allows the h9g to automatically change to what ever is playing on the firestick. It's either SD, HDR, Dobly vision or HDR+.
Tv settings
I used the same settings for all 4 picture modes I listed.
Backlight local dimming to high 100 turned on automatic light sensor and set it to 20
Picture mode depends on what's playing. I set it to one of the following, standard, dobly vision custom, HDR + theater
All levels are set the same on each picture mode
Contrast 50 Brightness 50 Color 50 Tint 0 Sharpness 10 hdmi2.0 enhanced,
Under advanced color temp medium, motion enhancement standard, motion clearness off Noise reduction Medium, digital noise red medium and active contrast medium
Took a while to get these settings tweaked to my liking. SD content now looks better. Still SD but not as bad as when trying to force dobly vision. Hope this helps

Debating between going with this or waiting another week or two for what comes up for NFL Super Bowl sale.
A lot of People are holed up in the homes for the winter in many regards, so TV is the great escape and TV sellers know this.
I think the best clearance prices will be seen in late February and onward.
