This particular model uses a brushed motor. I think the power-hungry nature of recip saws makes springing for the brushless version worth the extra cost, especially if you're out and about pruning wooded trails. The extra runtime is worth it.
But if you need for pruning around your yard, $90 is pretty good. I've used my recip saw far more than I ever thought I would, to the point where I don't own a chainsaw. It's just so convenient around the house/yard

Edit: Direct Tools has the brushless Octane one for $80 before shipping, it's the one I have and it kicks butt: https://www.directtoolsoutlet.com/product/R8643B
Although I used mine occasionally for home improvement projects, I love using this to trim trees and bushes in the yard. Trail maintenance is easy with this. Amazon sells pruning blades if you search for "reciprocating saw blades pruning".

That would be nice to have! I have this one, and it's really pretty decent. I cut down a bunch of trees and shrubs last year cutting a motorcycle trail last summer with it.

4Ah battery and charger alone are worth this price.

I love the battery "sawzall" type saws. Very handy for rough demo or yard work. Get a set of blades and be sure to also get a pruning blade

Have used mine for pruning as well as chopping up stuff for the trash. Works well and battery life is pretty good with the Octane battery.

It still allow me to order at the sale price but unfortunately I already have the Milwaukee Sawzall 18V One-key which has the same spec of 3,000 stokes per minute.

It comes with a battery. Once you have 3 or more battery's, it really does not matter.
