Thank you for posting. I wish these were charged with a USB-C cable like the SNES controllers. I think the the design is silly and limiting and that's probably why they get on sale often while the other official controllers don't. I realize that you can get a charger for $10 but still the design doesn't make any sense.

If you have any My Nintendo Points you could use those to get something to go with your order. Since it's a flat rate of $6.99 shipping.

Yes charge them on the switch itself and it does fit while docked.

I had these and ended up selling them because I thought maybe I could use it to play something simple like Tetris 99 but it didn't translate well.

In December GameStop bought my two controllers for $64 total store credit

These look awesome! I need some joy-cons, but for $40 these are even better for multiplayer. Playing with one joy-con is tough cause they are so small. I can't wait to use these with some Mario cart action!

So wait, without the charger you have to charge these on your switch itself? Does it even fit while docked? That seems like a poor decision.

I agree on this.
I still went ahead a got 2 sets for my 2 kids to play with and another to have in the living room. Not only that it went on sale too. Can't go wrong with that.

I really don't see the appeal for these, I have looked and the charging and how uncomfortable the original controllers were when I was a kid, I highly recommend the SNES ones instead, they use USB C charging and can be used for all SNES, NES games easily, and they can be used for any other actual switch games that don't require analog joystick input as they have all of the buttons other then analog.. I have also connected then with Bluetooth and usbUSB C to my PC for some retro gaming on RetroArch and they work great for that as well.

How did they work for classic NES games?

Sounds like this is a low risk purchase if trade-in value can be more than the current purchase price.

Yea Nintendo is weird about stuff like that. You can't buy digital games from their store before setting up a switch either
