FYI, this is a manager's markdown and will probably not be available at any other store. Doesn't hurt to check though. You might have better luck with finding new units on clearance, I know my store had a 20v Skil mower for $75 (item # 3731082).

Have family members who own repair shops for small machines. Craftsman's are the number one brand that seem to break down easily. I would steer clear of them, go for a honda or toro.

I have a craftsman that I bought in Lowes 2 seasons ago.
It works, takes one pull to get it started, and survived smaking a grounding pipe.

I still have plans to get a proper honda as the engine is not powerful enough for proper mulching and the self propel option is not that good unless you have level ground.

Most all the big brands, craftsman, troy-bilt, cub cadet, yard machines are all owned by MTD now. Almost all have a honda engine option for a little more money.

I stay away from all of the discounted equipment from Lowes that are put together by customers. I've seen so many pieces that customers effed up big time and then return them that I don't even bother.

Lowes isn't selling lawn mowers that need to be "assembled" beyond putting the handle on.
