Never actually had these before but I have heard nothing but great things. I will be purchasing a pair today because I can no longer hold myself back after seeing them on sale here so often.

Thinking of picking up a pair to use one as a center channel. Have the center for this series with a pair of 570s and it feels like it's underpowered.

None of these speakers are underpowered at all as they are passive designs and require separate amplification.

That being said, I have read that many in the audio community suggest and prefer to use a single 530 either upright or on it's side as an "improved" center channel speaker over the 520C.

I have and use the 530s for left and right front channels and the 520C for the center and it works well, though in a bigger living room/space it does require some decent power to get to an enjoyable (I.e. punchy) volume (we have 10'+ vaulted ceilings for context).

Hope this helps.

bought at $250, no regrets. Excellent speakers. Can't believe how small the mid bass driver is, sounds MUCH larger.

Tremonti on my Studio 530's is SUBLIME. RP-160M should be very similar sounding with the horn loaded tweeters and large 6.5" driver. The 530's driver is technically a 5.25" driver, but sounds just like the 6.5 from my Def Tech's it replaced just with more clarity. I don't think you could go wrong with the Klipsch as they are extremely easy to drive. I have an Emotiva XPA-200 driving the JBL and its enough power (150Wx2).

I think Iam keeping my Klipsch RP-160M.Iam a hard rock listener...
From the review:
"Quick note from my written review of Klipsch RP-160M Speakers.
One thing I would like to mention is if you're a person who is only listen to Hard Rock or Heavy Metal this speaker is a must, it does really well with all other music but truly shine with rock because Metallica "Enter Sandman" and the whole black album (FLAC 24Bit 96K) and Dire Straits "Brothers In Arms" SACD album sounded so good that I hit the repeat button on my remote control, this is a one solid pair of bookshelf speakers that can really rock the house."

If I didn't have two sets of Def Techs in the closet, I would have also purchased the RP-160M's as the price is unreal. I hope you like them!
