I had a corded polisher and it's an enormous improvement to be cord free. This has the same or more power than my girots garage polisher. Yes the battery makes it bulkier than a corded but I'll take that over not having to pay attention were the cord is and always moving, tripping or running out of cord.
I use it with 5.0 batteries as they have a good weight / runtime combination.
I purchased this when homedepot had it bundled with the high torque impact and ended up paying a bit less than this when the odd combo was a special buy.
Only thing i didn't like about this polisher was that it's a bit of a screamer like the corded Makita's. But nothing too unbearable. And being cordless makes me ignore the fact that it's a bit loud. That being said, I still use the corded rotary polishers I own for more demanding heavy duty buffing since it makes sense. This, I usually use over hoods and roofs (no cord over the shoulder) great lightweight machine. Great price.
