I have this player and am very happy with it. Have had it for almost two years without any issues. Great PQ on my LG C9 and I love the audio-only HDMI port since my receiver doesn't support Dolby Vision.

So how do you send the audio to your speakers if not through the receiver?

I currently use an Xbox One S to play 4K blu-rays. Is it worth $175 for this?

No.If you already have a solution for playing blurays and maybe have a smart tv you're set. Don't need this.

I bought a Sony one and returned it before even trying it, I'll admit. But there were a few issues around playback and needing to manually turn on or odd Dolby Vision that i recall concerned me. It was $149 on sale but i forget the model number, not sure if those issues ring a bell.

Audio HDMI goes to receiver, video HDMI goes straight to TV. It has two HDMI ports.

Do you mean your receiver does not let the PQ pass thru?

Since my receiver doesn't support Dolby Vision, it'll downgrade any Dolby Vision passed through it to HDR10. Having a second HDMI audio only port allows me to connect the receiver's video HDMI directly to my TV and avoid this.

Xbox One S doesn't support Dolby Vision over disc playback. This does. Whether that added support is worth $175 is your call.

If you play video games save your money, this player isn't that much better than the One at least not for $175.

I agree with Karthekean, you are better off getting Sony if Dolby Vision is important to you.

Oh yes I forgot about those receivers, luckily most players have an audio only out.

In that case I would suggest getting the Panasonic 420 when it pops up for $150. It's a better player with all 3 disc formats and adds helpful settings no other player gives you in the price range, it's basically Panasonic's 820 model without Dolby Vision.
