i have this. its a great chainsaw. i wouldnt suggest it for long term use... the battery doesnt last that long... but for clearing trails, or cleaning up the occasional tree brances... its phenomenal.

i use mine primarily to clear atv trails on our 140 acre property. id say one battery can get you through about a dozen 8" tree cuts. obviously this will depend on how green the tree is... but wow. so much more convenient than pull starting a chainsaw every time you pull it out for 2 cuts.

that said... got it considerably cheaper about a year ago from DTO. but if you need it now... id still call it a good deal.
Don't make the mistake of using a chainsaw on a palm tree, use a recip saw instead. Palms don't chip like wood does it comes apart and ends up stringy and gummy. Chainsaw will get bound up before you get very far into cutting it. Long recip blade with big teeth worked best for me.
The leaf blower is worth the battery alone....

Wow, awesome deal! I bit. Been looking for a chainsaw, and I already have all Ryobi tools, including a Ryobi Expand-It (with 40V battery), so this fits perfectly into my lineup. Thank you!

Haha this is tempting - we just had a number of large trees removed so I wonder how this would have done... there's not much more left to remove at the moment other than running bamboo and rhizomes and maybe some smaller trees. I have a Milwaukee Fuel M18 hackzall that I've been using to remove bamboo clumps and it has been working OK so far but the blade dull fast. I took down a dead camelia tree with it not too long ago but not sure what to do about the stumps. I probably would have picked this up if I were brave enough to try to take down those big trees but I didn't want to risk injuring myself (one of the trees was a 20-30' high palm haha)

Good to know. Glad we paid to have someone take that down along with the three ficus trees. We have/had possibly the worst combination of invasive plants and trees in our yard

Been waiting for a deal. I'm already in the Ryobi system, so the battery alone is worth it to me for use in my yard equipment. Thanks!

You should add "Factory Blemished" in the description.

Palmetto does the same thing. If you remove the guard from the sprocket it won't plug up. Then don't put you hand where the guard was.

I have Stihl 250, 390 and Kombimotor/pruning saw. Same deal with all of them on stringy sticky stuff.

Edit: Arrived today - came with the 6aH battery instead of 4aH!
