Nope, code will not work for Free Guy. Seems some studios and/or titles are exempt from promo codes.
Yeah, if you have to make two special trips out to rent and return, then the gas and your time makes a RedBox run make little sense.

However, if you're at the store anyway, or your daily commute takes you right past a Redbox, then paying $2 (or nothing) for a blu-ray rental is the cheapest way to watch a new release movie. Way cheaper than $6 for a streaming rental. Even better when they offer 4K blu-rays for $2.50 (vs buying it for $20+) but those are awfully limited.

So yeah.. it still has its place.
The excluded titles are:

-Free Guy
-Jungle Cruise
-Ron's Gone Wrong
-Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings
-The Last Duel
-The French Dispatch
-Antlers

Site sucks.

Anything clicked in On Demand link comes back "Oops. Something unexpected happened."

Snake eyes good to go?
Snake Eyes was Ok, entertaining, Jungle Cruise was pretty good (Rock was very entertaining), The French Dispatch was quirky and odd-if you like artsy movies you may like it, Antlers was Ok (a few scary parts), Shang-Chi was excellent, Rons Gone Wrong was a blatant Big Hero 6 ripoff, boring and I dozed for the middle section of the movie. 🤤

Snake Eyes had so much potential to be better, but it was okay.

Used to visit Redbox on a weekly basis. With promo codes the rentals came to about 80 cents apiece, but most of the new releases are so forgettable I just watch old classics for free now.

Thanks OP! We were able to pickup 'Last night in Soho', 'Old' and the new James Bond movie. All for free from the same Redbox.

If you live near a redbox it doesn't take that much time to pick up the rental. No brainer for free. You won't spend more than 50 cents in two round trips for gas.
Yep! I don't live $5 worth of gas away from multiple redboxes!

It is a little ironic that it costs more to stream the movie than to rent a physical disc. Must be one of those "convenience" up charges.
Yeah.. and it's about competition (or is it price collusion?). There's more competition for streaming rentals (Apple, Vudu, Amazon, etc.) yet they're generally $5.99 for a recent release rental.

There's no competition in the blu-ray rental market, and RedBox does it for $2 or less. Perhaps it's due to deals with the studio setting the streaming price.

For those trying, the code does work for "on demand" films but depends on price. I tried to get Don't Breath 2 which is on sale for $0.99 but code won't work. Just to see it does take $2 off F9 which is a $5.99 rental.
