I am running Lenovo Tiny with i3 8100T, 8gb ram, nvidia quadro p620 2gb card. I get alot of work done on it and play diablo 2 resurrected on it as well. I also work/travel with an asus zenbook 14" ryzen 4500u with 8gb ram. 8ram is plenty enough for most people. This lenovo is the best value I have encountered in a long time.

why touch the Ideapad 5 when it has a notorious hinge issue?

For a person who uses several web browsers, virtual machines and does modern stacks programming 8GB of RAM is just not an option.

Also, remember that part of this RAM is dedicated to the integrated GPU, so e.g. when you're running a game which requires 2GB of VRAM, your RAM decreases to just 5.5GB (don't ask me why but there's an extra ~512MB loss).

Maybe they wanted a laptop that isn't designed to open and close :/

I recently sent on to the recycling center due to the hinge failure. No more Lenvo for me until I hear about a reliable redesign for the hinges.

Lenovo laptops are the absolute worst!! My hard drive failed on a less then two year old machine that was rarely used. I paid over $500 for my ideapad laptop. No customer support. You also have to pay a diagnostic fee before they can tell you how much the repair is

I picked one of these up on Saturday. I hate to say it is having hinge problems with less than owning for 48 hours. The screen is starting to skew from the base. If running your finger around the front you can feel a recess on one side and an overhang on the other. Waiting to see how Lenovo will handle it. I drove over 500 miles round trip to get it.
