induction cooktop is perfect for hotpot indoor. I used for hotpot regularly. heat up fast and no worry of carbon dioxide. If you feel not heating up well, then it is your pots issue. Get a cheap pot from Asian market instead of 5 ply All-clad. Some of those expensive pots do not work well with induction. But the cheap stainless steel one always work so well.

Free shipping is only available when buying on best buy's ebay store. Not available when buying on bestbuy.com as the price is under $35 (34.99) and 1 cent under the free shipping threshold.

Bought it last time. Overall it's fine. Heats up my cast iron pans very fast. Useful to do bacon or steaks outside. Main negative is that it seems to really crank up and then ease off, even when set to max, so I switch to temp mode and back to get it to crank back up often. Also, maybe this is the same with all induction, but using a bigger pan is somewhat pointless since it's amazing how focused the heat generation is.

Most induction hob listings will have a size rating for their induction zone, (according to bb, this model is 8") you're better off using disc bottom cookware that will spread the heat out as it heats up if the zone is too small.

What's disc bottom cookware? That would be nice to spread it out if I can use my bigger cast iron pans

Is it a good idea to get the 2-Year Accidental Geek Squad Replacement for $9.99 ? Some reviews say that it stopped working after 15 days and they couldn't return it. Or just buy with Credit card that offer some extra warranty like the Citi Costco Visa ?

If you want to use cast iron, you could get a heat diffuser on Amazon that would basically do the same thing as the disc does for regular cookware.

I see $8.99 shipping on bestbuy.com. Maybe you have elite membership, which has a free shipping benefit with no minimum purchase amount requirement.

On lower power modes, does it keep a constant power level or does it ramp up and down? Some of the cheaper induction cooktops ramps up and down which is not conducive to simmering

If anyone wants to get this for hot pot, you will be disappointed. At least it doesn't work well in my experience. I tried several different pots with this induction cooktop but none heats up well.
