Even if these are plain white, Philips Hue bulbs are much higher quality than "plain ole" LED bulbs, so $1 is a great deal for them.

BS shows $9.97 for the only store around me with inventory.

why is it 100% of the time even when I see a post in seconds, it is out of stock in my semi large city? any hints is appreciated, otherwise it is worthless. St. Louis OOS
In store deals are always YMMV. There are a variety of reasons, especially with clearance deals like this. Not all stores put things on clearance at the same time, or even the same items necessarily. An item on clearance at a Home Depot in Ohio may not be on clearance at the same time in a HD in Indiana or Texas.

It doesn't always matter if you see a clearance deal the second a post goes live here. It might have already happened in your area. A clearance deal could have been live in your area two weeks before someone posted it here. In those cases, the items are usually already long gone. This is especially true of clearance items. To further decrease your odds, a lot of posts here are reposts of items and old deals that were already listed on BS and other deal sites. People may have known about it and bought them up weeks ago in your area.

Finally, there's the reseller and Slick Deals factor. A larger city and market is going to have more resellers who do this to make a living. There are also going to be more Slick Dealers and deal hunters who are crazy passionate about finding a good deal. Those who are serious about it often have inside knowledge and relationships set up with managers and employees. They seem to snag up good deals first. Heck, in some cases, the reseller buying up all the good deals IS an employee or manager.

Luck plays a big part in it all of this. It makes snagging a great deal and the small victories that much better! Missing out on deals is part of the game. Honestly I'd rather miss out completely and find out after the fact. Nothing sucks more than finding out about a deal, having it show in stock and then getting to the store to find out someone just checked out with the last of them as you were pulling into the parking lot.

If you just want an LED bulb that can change colors without an app or bluetooth, they make remote control LED bulbs. Obviously you use a remote control to change the colors.

what a waste of time. brickseek said they had three in stock at this store, i found the three bulbs, there was a huge farking line bc only one register was open, had to go to customer service just to get a price check. Rang up as $9.97. YMMV this was houston texas. God what an awful experience. Home Depot sucks, it's insane that their stock is double that of lowes. Lowes would never have such bad customer service lol. And they would honor brickseek deals online too. Love lowes, gonna stick to the blue only from here on out.

No they are compatible with the hub. It's just that they are in addition Bluetooth compatible if you don't have a hub.
Wait do you can control the bulb with Bluetooth if you don't have a bridge but they are ZigBee ?
I thought that the Bluetooth was to aid in getting them paired nothing more
So is Bluetooth control now standard on the newer generation HUE bulbs now?
I have older generation and they don't have any Bluetooth

Phillips bulbs work great in my house with Alexa AND Google. They will not interfere with older garage door openers unlike some of the other cheaply made LED bulbs.

Am I missing something here? The post says $1, but the receipt the author submitted shows $8 dollars for the bulb. What's the deal?
