  • There's a warm, savory, rich spice throughout the broth that satisfies from bite to bite.
  • The additional toppings of shiitake mushroom slices, carrots, and scallions add some welcome bits of texture as you eat. The shiitake mushrooms in particular give nice meat-like textures.
  • The broth shares the stage with the noodles a little more, which is great because the noodles have a great consistency and springiness from start to finish.
  • Spicier than your average instant noodles.

Less than a dollar per cup so this seems like a really good deal. It's even cheaper than the typical ramen (i.e. Nissin Cup Noodle).

The 4-pack of 4.2oz bricks is a better deal. At the local grocery stores (Albertsons/Safeway), they are $5.99 regular price, which comes out to 36 cents/ounce.

These are 37 cents/ounce.

When the 4-pack of the bricks goes on sale for $4 or less ($1 per 4.2oz brick), it's unbeatable. I clear out their entire inventory when that happens.

It's non fried air dried. Not soaked in cheap low quality oils, so you can add the fats back by adding more eggs to your bowl.

I've developed a weird habit of grabbing whatever flavor Nongshim noodles I can find that are actually Korean-made. A few months ago I got a 4-pack of Champong, and now I have a 4-pack of buckwheat with gochujang sauce. I always skip the USA-made ones from Rancho Cucamonga, they're second tier.

For brick vs cup, some work vs convenience, they sell special microwaveable ramen cookers on Amazon and TJ Maxx. Or just use any rectangular microwaveable container.

If you really want spicy get Buldak 2x spicy hot chicken, I was sweating while eating that. Not sure if it's good though, lol.
I've never had an oven at any of the breakrooms, just usually microwaves and maybe an illicit hotplate/burner that we turned a blind eye to... Sadly I just don't think folks can be trusted with an oven at work, way to many burnt popcorn experiences in the office....

Just a question what type of egg do you add, boiled, fried or? I wanted from add eggs to mine and I was stuck because Japanese eggs are like set overnight in a mixture and I'm afraid I'd mess it up lol

Japanese style ramen egg topping is prepared as Ajitsuke tamago. Boil briefly, the yolk must remain runny. Then soak in water-mirin-soy for 1-3 days. Yolk will be like a custard if done correctly.
