Sit down a spell, son. [pulls out pocketknife and starts whittling a stick] You see, back before the turn of the century there was this little importer on the west coast, and they had container after container of cheap, Chinese manufactured tools which generally lasted 5-6 uses. They'd ship anywhere cheap, and every item had 3 or 4 "part numbers" - find the right part number and put it in the URL and you could pay the "sale price" - often 40-50% off - any day of the week. Cheaper than renting a tool, and you never had to worry about retuning it to the rental store. Some of those things actually turned out to be decent tools. [stares off into the distance...] Looks like a storm's a-brewin' - you'd better git on home now.

they were $3.25 beginning of last year. don't remember how much they were when they came out, but think i paid under $2.5 with coupon. looks like HD and Lowe's buckets are $5 now, believe they were $3.50ish before covid.

That was a little over the top of an anecdote.

Thanks for playing... I will actually be in HF over the weekend and $5 is $5. Now, you need to post something that is not in the OP.... Smilie

A drywall buddy gives me buckets, but they are not 5 gallon. The painter buckets are, but they are a bit of a pain to clean out. But, the lids from either with the seals are decent to have. Most construction sites will have plenty in the dumpster towards the end of the job.

About the same as box stores... everything has went up in price and will continue to do so as the Feds print more 'money' out of thin air.

I bought a Braun mechanics light and it crapped out on me after a few months. I didn't keep the packaging but still had the receipt.

When I went to get a new one, they pointed out that it only had a 90 day warranty and wouldn't let me return or exchange it. I left a bad review for the light and they 'Disappeared' it.

When I bought it? Yes. What does that have to do with the 90 day warranty?

Just the life time warranty is attached to a phone number.
