On Thanksgiving Day DG had Lowe's GC at 15% discount. I purchased a total of $4,000 worth of the cards. I purchased 3 cards at one DG, before their system shutdown the fourth purchase, something to do with possible fraud. The store manager could not over ride the computer. Learning my lesson, I visited two other DGs and purchased 3 cards at one and 2 cards at the other with no issues . All of the transactions were on the same CC. I plan to combine the Lowes GC with my 10% military discount to purchase a new ZTR mower in a couple months.

This is going to be a digital coupon linked to your account with them. If like last time you have to add the coupon to your account that is usually accessed by typing in a phone number. That makes it limit one per account. If you have multiple phone numbers then you can create accounts and you can buy that many cards. I have had friends that allowed me to create accounts with their phone numbers but dollar general is making it harder to do. There is usually a $500.00 limit for each purchase as well. So essentially you purchase a $500 card for $450. Even if you have multiple numbers and accounts you have to be careful with buying too many in a row because their system shuts down due to fraud (from what I have learned the fraud has to do with gift card scams for elders). I usually buy 1 card on 2 different accounts then go to another store and do another 2. I pay cash because it is easier and I don't want the hassle of losing the coupon for a credit card problem with them (sometimes when the phone number is keyed and you have a problem with payment you lose the coupon for that phone number) so cash is easier for me. The managers can be a pain as well on these deals so I try to tread lightly because they can shut the purchases down and you're out of luck.

To access the coupon you have to log into your account then go to digital coupons and click "view all" then "load more" till you see it. Then log out and if using multiple accounts log back in and repeat for them all. I usually go into a store and get the number of cards that I plan to purchase for the different accounts, take them home and write the phone numbers on them so I know which accounts I have done. I think I'm up to 10 different accounts now. So if I can do this I'll buy $5000 in cards for $4500. It is a little with but with materials as high as they are every little bit counts.

I know this message was long just trying to help people understand. Dollar general honestly doesn't seem to like to sell these so you really have to be careful but if you play by the rules I have listed then you can usually do pretty good if you have the time and patience. Good luck everyone.

what's the limit on purchase per DG account? I believe last time it was $500. I don't think you can add more than one $500 card per transaction but not sure if you can put the same account phone number in multiple times.

I believe it is $500 per account. To get multiples, you would need to have multiple accounts and clip the digital on each.

Surprisingly the one in my app says it expires 02/19/2022. So expiration dates might be regional based (I'm in SW Ohio).

I did for $300 from the last promotion, but they accept only Cash for GC purchase. Not sure how did you get to override that…
