how much money was your phone?
This is a budget tablet that actually offers you 4GB of RAM, not 3GB or 2 GB which other manufacturers offer. And 4GB of RAM is enough, sure more is better but it is not like it is lacking and causes your apps to run slow.
32GB of Hard drive space is the biggest issue with this tablet. But as a Chromebook, 32GB is doable.
I keep the Tab S7s for the kids and for real drawing - love the stylus.
If your needs are light and include reading, content consumption (streaming, Plex), and some decent gaming, it's a great price for tablet with an OS that will be updated for awhile.
Yes, the speakers suck - use any headphones you want - wired, USB-C, or BT.
So this tablet is .37" thick... the Fire HD10 is .36" thick and the ipad is .295" thick.
Please explain which tablet is three times thinner?
I feel alot of people are putting out false info about this tablet.
I feel like one person has poor reading comprehension.

This is a thread about a Chromebook/tablet, not a phone.

The GOOD of Chromebooks (this one specifically):
1. OS and Security updates until June 2028
2. OS and Security updates done by Google.
3. Chrome OS is considered the second most safe OS to use regarding being hacked. Linux is number 1.
4. Comes with google play store for Android.
5. Access to the Chrome Store (over 188 thousand addon apps available, such as add block). In Chrome, www.google.com search "chrome store".
6. This is the full windows version of Chrome (450Mb) while every Android tablet Chrome is a dumb down version of this (45Mb). With full Chrome, you can actually use addons.
7. more peripherals work on Chrome then Android... a lot more. Such as USB-C hub with HDMI, 3.5mm, SD card reader, USB out.
8. You can install Linux and make this a terminal and have access to the Linux store apps (10's of thousands of apps)
9. Chromebooks have a "powerwash" feature. If after a year or six months you notice your Chromebook is running slow, you can powerwash it and it brings it gives you a fresh install with all updates and also re downloads all your apps. After you do a powerwash, your Chromebook should run like it did on the first day.
10. Chromebooks have ZERO bloatware. There is not one Android tablet that you can buy with zero bloatware.
The bad:
1. Low Hard Drive Space
2. Speaker are weak
3. There is a learning curve with Chrome OS
4. It is very difficulty to sideload apps.
5. This version of Chrome is Android 9 at 32bit (same OS that Amazon uses for their tablets) To bad it does not run 64bit OS (the CPU can do this). .
TIPS:
1. I would download the app Brave or Valvaldi browser. Most people who complain that this tablet is slow... are using Chrome (and they compare it to the speed of an Android tablet using Chrome). Full Chrome is 10 times the size of Android Chrome, using another browser for simple browsing puts the web surfing speed back to what is on other tablets with the same CPU (Fire HD10).
2. I would install Gboard. The keyboard is missing something to move around the curser. With Gboard, if you side swipe the spacebar to the right, the curser moves to the right and the same thing about swiping the space bar to the left. Only Chromebook tablets and Chromebook convertibles are able to install Gboard, all other Chromebooks will not allow this.
3. Only the Chrome App has Widevine Level 1 support. So to stream, you should go to the website and not use the app unless you are on a plane and need the file to be downloaded.
4. Be patient and update your tablet. I believe you need to update this tablet three times before it is fully updated.
5. To get the identical experience as YouTube Vanced, go to the Chrome store and download and install "add block".
6. Due to the limited harddrive space, don't install apps if you can have full access using the Chrome app, the entire point of having a Chromebook.
For example, scrolling google news pages up and down "stuttered."
Is this also your experience?
Someone said if you update the tablet several times, it gets better. Is this true?
1. XDA Amazon Tool Box no longer works
2. Updates will be much longer with the 10e
3. Updates are much more frequent with the 10e
4. The advantages of the Fire HD10 do not out weigh the benefits of this Chromebook (IMHO). They both share the identical CPU/GPU and should run all software identically.
5. People who have gotten XDA tool box to work needed to turn off automatic updates and they end up putting their tablet at risk (hacking or identity theft).
The reason why you should not buy the 10e or any Chromebook. If you side load apps. Most people do not side loud apps but if you do... I would not recommend a Chromebook.
I personally got this Chromebook for my 8 year old kid. My kid loves it and I think it is a nice tablet.
For example, scrolling google news pages up and down "stuttered."

But if you expect Full Chrome which is 450Mb to run at the same speed of Android Chrome (45Mb)... then you are fooling yourself.
I have noticed some lag every once in a while, when using Chrome. But it stuttered for less then one second a couple of time in the a last 2 months.
I also use the app, "killapps" to completely clear the memory.
For Android, there is something called YouTube Vanced. This needs to be sideloaded. And there are web browsers that have adblocker built into it such as Brave and Vivladi.
