iBuyPower doesn't test their systems.
I have an iBUYPOWER from 5 years ago that's running great. Similar deal and price range. I upgraded the power supply and added another fan since it was getting a bit warm but overall the build was well done and it's been totally functional for me. Just my experience with the company, I'd buy from them again.
That's embarrassing how pitiful that build was.

Decided to pull trigger on this one...not a huge upgrade for me, but future proofs me for awhile.

Current system: i5 9600K, 16GB 3200 RAM, RTX 3060ti
it's on a mini-itx build, so upgrading CPU / MB to 12th Gen was gonna take a chunk anyways (not many mini-itx boards out there yet - reasonably priced anyways)

Anywho...hopefully this works out!
You've got a really decent system already, I guess you'll get maybe 20% improvement tops. Honestly, I'd wait if I were you.

Upgradability , airflow there are some bottle necks with Dell machines if you are into gaming. Not like Ibuypower case is a top notch. There are far better cases like LIan li cool are available. But this is easily replacable. Dell's big plus is RAM. DDR5 RAMs are awfully expensive. DDR5 ram means they have ddr5 motherboard slightly better future proof though it is still a long way away. If you purely look at specs Dell's is a better deal. But you can tweak ibuypower a lot more than you do with Dell.
Is cooling better on the ibuypower? Seems like Dell is the way to go for these reasons if you don't really plan on tweaking or replacing parts. Yes? Might cancel my order and go dell. Picking up pc for running tgc 2019 golf simulator. TIA!

Both are good deals.

CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3200 - 64$
VENGEANCE® 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5 DRAM 4800MHz C34 Memory Kit — Black - 300$ (also availability is low at this point)

Eventually, the DDR5 price will come down. Right now there are not a lot of devices that can take advantage of faster memory speed. Probably RX4000 series GPUs.

Regarding cooling you can buy a lot of RGB cooling fans on Amazon and install it on your own. I am not sure XPS 8940 will give you that option as the form factor is not standard. It is proprietary.

Another thing bothering me regarding dell is the power supply, it only has 460w which is not ideal at all. Don't know how easy it is to replace it with 750w though.

Bought. This is my first pre-built in 25 years since I can't find RTX cards. We'll see how the build is…
I am so tempted, by 1070 is getting older by the day. Still holding out for a custom build lol

Thanks for the reply! Do you think 460w PSU is enough for the step up? I was able to get around $1700 with difference of 750w PSU but 2x8 DDR5

Spec wise it's a very appealing purchase.

I feel the primary cause for apprehension is the brand. They do use off the shelf parts, but they don't test the system and there have been a fair number or negative reviews regarding quality control.

For example, parts being damaged during shipping or poor construction, cases that increase heat internally,, graphics cards exhibiting shearing forces during shipment, missed screws or parts misaligned, builds not functioning on arrival, or parts from companies a builder might turn their nose at.

Granted, most prebuilds suffer from the above here and there and many buyers will find their basic needs met, but when buyers are spending $1000+ on a system, the expectations may be set higher and not match the product received. For example some buyers might be hoping for a mid to high level asus/msi/gigabyte motherboard but find themselves with an asrock motherboard. It will still function and may work like the other companies using their own motherboards like hp/dell , but its things like that.

You are referring the gamer nexus video. That one they bought from Amazon not from ibuypower directly. Buying directly from them is a better experience from what i have heard.

Most definitely 460W won't be enough. It will degrade the performance 650W atleast.

If you buy from them it will be easy due to the matching of the size. I have a very old XPS running for 12 years. I bought a nonstandard power supply.. I could use only 2 holes of the power supply.

This is basically the price of the components with free shipping and no tax (the Dell deal mentioned earlier had tax, deal breaker). Jumped in and upgraded from my 2009 1070 build. Thanks.

Here is another difference. Lot of room in ibuypower case.

Dell XPS 8940 case

14.45(H) x 6.65(W) x 12.13(D)

Ibuypower Case

18.8976(H) x 8.66(W) x 19.3307(D)

I think you failed to realize that unlike Pre-Built Desktops from Lenovo, Dell, HP etc., this is built from all the off the Shelves components which you can buy from a store and then assembled by this company. So, you can use any components of this to a standard build by yourself.
Yeah... that's why he asked the question...

No ATX or STX PSU will fit into that, that's a proprietary PSU. You probably need to order from Dell only and that PSU will not work in any other case or motherboard.

One more thing we have to realize while comparing DELL XPS 8940 and this one is the purpose the machines. XPS 8940 was not built for gaming. It is their flagship business computer. workstation whatever you call it. But definitely not meant for gaming. You can convert it into one. But ibuypower system focuses on gaming. So they don't care about RAM much. It is all about GPU and CPU. For gamers 16 GB is enough. It comes down to what you are using the PC for. Gaming or Business or casual or a bit of everything.
