In case anyone is looking for a freebie...you can pick up Condé Nast Traveler Magazine from RecycleBank (free).

No cc information is taken, no auto-renew. You complete tasks on their site to earn pts and redeem for subscriptions. It doesn't take long...but some folks don't want to deal with it.

Some freebie sites for magazines can be hit or miss. I've been using RecycleBank for over 10 years, and I've received every magazine I've ordered.

Whether you use DM or RecycleBank, you can extend a current subscription. If you do, be sure to use the EXACT same name/addy information that is on your current mailing label. If you aren't sure...you can log into your subscription account at the magazine specific website to verify your information.

If, despite using the same information, you start to receive duplicates. You can resolve the issue by contacting customer service at the specific magazine (not DM or RB). Once logged into your account at the magazine specific website (see link above), you can send a message to customer service. You provide the account numbers off the magazine labels, and ask that the subscription accounts be merged.

Why one would like to subscribe to receive advertisements?

Popular Mechanics has completely deteriorated in both quality and number of articles. Almost a buck an issue for a publication that will soon be in the graveyard of dead rags? No thanks.

I've signed up for several mags from various websites over the past few years. Have yet to ever have one arrive. These discount sites seem questionable.

Dude how desperate do you have to be to slave yourself for a $5 magazine? Just go donate plasma if you're hard up. And honestly if you're doing these low wage tasks for a travel mag, you cant even afford a trip to Cleveland on Spirit.
