PSA the charge is $1+tax (pls fix OP) for those like me who tried a privacy.com card for $1.00 exactly

and their checkout page UX is horrendous, mistakenly tapped enter and it tried processing an incomplete form and now I have a 'delinquent payment' for an incorrect shipping address i cannot change...

i've gotten a 6-mos sub on this snack before, from a dear friend. it was definitely something we looked forward to getting every month. some great snacks and candies! i highly recommend.

It's advertised on their home page, and presumably damage control to deal with the fact that their Russia box couldn't have been timed any worse. They probably have excess inventory they're looking to dump...

Before ordering, scroll down to bottom of first page, for "First Box" change it from "Russia" to "Everywhere" (or Scandinavia, France, etc) and "Russia problem" is solved.

And confirmation email I got says $1 only, no tax. (In CA)

Every box after that is overpriced for what you get, and they are hoping that people forget to cancel, so that they can keep charging you, and sending you tiny samples of food for way too much money. Like I said, if you have any kind of international food grocery stores, or a Cost Plus World Market, or a Pier One Imports nearby. You're better off just going there and seeing what they have in their food sections.

best to use virtual cards (privacy.com, capital one eno, etc)
You can set a limit on the card, have it auto reject new charges, even delete it after a certain date

Honestly, just based on what I have seen what Glenda (Creative Grandma) gets in her Universal boxes, it just looks like the same junk food (chips,cookies) that we have in the US but just with a foreign label. Glenda always mentions how educational the boxes are because children can learn about different countries. When I was a child I just wrote to the various embassies in D.C. and requested maps and pamphlets.
