"Safe" is a relative term. No metal knife that's ever existed should go through a dishwasher if you care about it. If you don't care about it, then go for it.

Any knife that advertises being "dishwasher safe" is admitting that it's a cheap POS and that no one should care about keeping it sharp (and there's nothing wrong with that! Just know what to expect!)
It's just wood ain't it? Equivalent to a cutting board
I worked for Macys for 3 years in their house wares department these are the "I'm going to buy them because I literally can't afford anything else and know absolutely nothing about knives set" honestly save the money and buy your knife set one knife at a time. That or buy these for someone to let them know how little you care about them believe me they will get the hint with these.

I'm not worried about it in the least. I simply answered a question.

I got this set during Xmas. Really, I like them for the price. I don't put mine through the dishwasher and they are sharp. In hand, they feel decent.

Buy thick cheap knives. Dishwasher them. Sharpen them with a cheap pull through sharpener.

I have Henckels Zwilling steak knives all metal. I put them in the dishwasher every week. The best part of metal without wood handles. No rust or issues with the handle. Now you are trying to tell me that I should never put metal knives in the dishwasher?

For those of us that were looking for quality knives, and are willing to spend more, what brands are recommended?
