My kids use this Chromebook for virtual learning/zoom. Speakers are good for sure.
And with the 11th gen i3 it has power to spare for Meets and Zooms.

I almost bought a $650 lenovo last month but it had double the memory and 4 times larger ssd

And my current machine has 8gb and a 256 ssd

But the period comma and question mark keys are broken and cannot easily be repaired and the dang thing is coming apart below the touchpad - I have it taped up but it still bothers my thumb when using it

I also have never used a chromebook but Chome is my primary browser

My store has them in stock

Should I get this one or suffer with my current machine for a few more years

Is the learning curve using a chromebook versus always using windows easy for a old man like me

I also kind of fear the pain of having to deal with all my banks & credit unions Multi-factor authentication on a new machine

Thanks for any help

Well, Chromebook uses Chrome browser as user interface (Chrome OS --sometimes styled as chromeOS-- is a Linux-based operating system designed by Google. It is derived from the free software Chromium OS and uses the Google Chrome web browser as its principal user interface.) and if you use the same log in credentials, you all your passwords etc. get transferred / synchronized to the new system with chrome.

Recently I bought a $99 Lenovo Android tablet (after waiting for 2 months after order; has touch but the CPU is not fast as this i3) and a $80 refurbished Chromebook (has KB but no touch) -- This looks much better (faster CPU, more memory, 2 in 1, touch). But, but ...Confused

can this install Linux?
I don't see why not since it is an i3 based machine, various distributions are available for Intel CPUs and chromeOS-- is a Linux-based operating system

My store has them and its easy to check online by going to laptops and then it lets you check for available at your local store or something like that

And last month the one they had on sale $650 that I considered was also available in the store

On that one I called to be sure and she quoted a very large number I think over 100

My store has a ton of different models on display- easily 2 dozen or more

For 300 can't complain. It's got built-in software to quickly connect to my pixel 6 for tethering within 5 seconds.

I was able to add it to my cart but you can just go to the store and buy it to save $10 on shipping
