It says more about Apple's shitty pricing strategy
Don't take the bait, hardware wise Samsung beats Apple in pretty much every way.
Alright cool, but youre talking about an event that happen once in the entire lifespan of the tab s7, should we wait the entire lifespan of the s8 for that deal?

I don't know why people always compare with the deal from last year. what if I don't need a table last year and now I need it? can I take a time machine?
I still call this is a great deal at this moment. I think people buy a table when they want it. and they don't wait for a whole year just waiting for the best deal.
Because technology goes down in value over time. Would you pay the same price for an iPhone 13 next year, as it is right now?

You would be correct if this has been the going rate. Looking at the resale market and the market in general, you are waaaayyy off. This was the same and even cheaper at times last year, but other than maybe an extrealy short term deal it was mainly during the desperate end of Q1 "must beat apples sales event." during which times the deals were literally selling out as fast as people could post them For those of us that stayed up until 3am for new drops last year, faster than anyone was ever able to post them. While it is useful when considering that it might be possible it will drop lower, your comparison to how technology in general devalues is just way off the mark, given the circumstances that led to the sales you are referencing.

Once again you are spreading misinformation.

Apple doesnt have notifications pop up to update OS. It may happen once and thats it.

As for downloading the update automatically, that is a setting you turn off.

If you happened to not know about turning it off and want to get rid of the update that downloaded automatically you go to General --> Storage --> find the update and delete it.

If you are using an iPad with 16GB of storage that means it is at least 6-8 years old. If you expect a near decade old tablet to perform flawlessly on the newest software, then you are being delusional.

I think you made the mistake of updating and now are regretting it. Google it there are ways to revert back to older software versions
It pops up once per revision. There's no way you can permanently make it go away. Even if you delete the update, it will download again on the next update. I don't know which part of my post you misunderstood. My iPad was running flawlessly on v14. Whatever you want to say sir. You can keep spreading your words of wisdom.

Honestly, the price is what made me consider it.

I use my 16 MBP for 90% of my work flow so dont care about Facetime/iMsg being available on my tablet.

Would just be using it for a few business apps, PDF annotation, and maybe some light web browsing.

I traded in my tablets for an iPad Air 5 so hopefully that will work but you cant argue with $650 (iPad Air 5 + Pencil) vs $325 (S7+ 12.4" AMOLED 120hz with a pencil) its literally half the price.

If it had at least 2 years of updates I would have grabbed it but with only one year left it made me pause
Thanks for the reply! I do see your reasoning, makes a lot of sense. If it's only going to be a device you use maybe 10% of the time why pay the Apple premium for a similar feature set. Oddly enough I hadn't thought about it that way.

I do wonder what utilization percentage most people have on a tablet on average.

By the way when I look at the "What's in the box" section it doesn't list the stylus, are you sure it comes with it?

They weren't selling out as quick as people could post them. The deals last year were up for hours before selling out. I know, because I bought one, then got a typical cancellation from Samsung.

If the S8+ is out now, like someone else claimed, makes this an even worse deal than it appears. It will drop the value of this real quick within the next couple months.

Shouldn't you be looking at what specific features you will want while using it? Also don't forget your library of content etc.

I agree, that makes sense as well. But I suppose this is where use case really comes into play. I think my situation is more aligned with Mrgreed's, I use a laptop and my phone most of the time. There isn't any specific feature I can think of that I would NEED from a tablet other than the basic capabilities they already come with.

However, to your point, that is why I'm very curious what other people are using their tablets for. Perhaps there are some features that would be advantageous to me that no one has mentioned. So far the prevailing use has been media consumption.

Pulled the trigger on 128gb S7+ using EPP discount + 10%CB which came out to be around $412 (425*1.07 - 42.5) net tax and CB. Was going to trade in my S10+, but will sell on swappa instead since it is definitely worth more than $150 trade in value.

you can either go through the RAKUUTEN website and sign up or download the app and make the purchase through their app. On their website or app use the search bar and search for samsung, click on the offer to activate, then make your purchase, and once the order is processed on samsung's end, the cb will show up on your account. CB will be paid out quarterly. I get paidout via paypal.

Got S7 last year with free Buds+ for a final cost of around $140 when they offered $400 trade in for S4. The current deal is not as hot.

I can only select 512GB for the S7. Are they sold out of the 256 or 128?
