So are you saying phone over Switch? Or get both? lol
Phone over switch.. it is so easy to take out your phone and just play the game anywhere anytime and it's better with touch screen... So phone or tablet will be my picks over switch.. I have the switch with huge backlog like most out there..lol.. but this one is on my phone
Very similar to Hades. Lot of fun, later ascensions can be annoying along similar lines of Hades, hard to get traction until you find the right seed or run.
I bought this on a sale awhile back. I liked the concept but I kept dying pretty early and bounced off it. I'd like to try it again as everyone raves about. Any tips or a guide for new players?
I was skeptical but this simple game is highly addictive. I can see how it could be perfect for a phone as it's not relying on graphics or high speed action. Shame it doesn't sync cross platform. Kinda wish I got the iOS version instead.

Funny to see this. I was just gonna post the same thing. Plus it's supporting a great cause! That's why I bought it, even though i hardly ever play pc nowadays. That being said, I may get it on Switch as well.

Once you start playing more you'll unlock newer & stronger cards and relics and game will start becoming little easier. Prefer relics more, choose path to face maximum elite enemies in act 1 and act 2 to get more relics, elite enemies are slightly more difficult in act 3. They'll be fine once your card and relic collection becomes good.
This game is really fun. You'll never get bored with it.

Just keep playing and then you'll figure out what builds work for what characters. One thing to consider is you don't always have to take cards if you don't see anything that will really help your deck. When you pick cards try to make it synergize. Also consider defending more unless the enemy grows in strength (there's a bunch of enemies that do).
Whether or not you die really depends on your luck with cards and relics. Some cards and relics make the game much much easier. If I had a really bad start and my deck looks like crap I'll abandon the run. Expect to lose fairly often. I think I have like over 55 hours in it and I only have 6 wins (2 with Iron Clad, 2 with Silent, 1 with Defect, 1 with Watcher).
Forgot how I beat it the first time with the Iron Clad the second time I beat it by getting a relic that made a random card in my hand cost 0 if I played a power card and then I just collected power cards, even if they were bad for my deck because the bad ones cost 1 energy and the ones that cost more were actually good. Once I got a bunch of power cards out, I became hard to stop.

One advice... It's so much more better and portable if you add it in you phone

I once read a simple review of Slay the Spire that went along the lines of:
"I don't own a Nintendo Switch. I own a Slay the Spire machine."
