What's a good one with Stannous fluoride that's cheaper than Sensodyne?

Stannus fluoride is able to prevent tooth sensitivity by re-mineralizing the tooth enamel--like putting on a new coat of paint.

The active ingredient in this product is a de-sensitizer, so it penetrates the tooth and reduces the nerve's sensitivity. It doesn't actually fix the problem, which is that the enamel has worn thin. It's like fixing a check engine light for low oil in your car by putting a piece of tape over the light. Ya, you won't see the light and it won't bother you so much, but the problem isn't being fixed.

Here's Colgate Total. Has sensitivity, Whitening, AND stannous fluoride. 5.64 for a 2 pack (after coupon). It's really cheap.

I had large fillings and crowns and this helped more than sensodyne. I would also get hot and cold sensitivity if I didn't use this or Sensodyne and I thought I needed root canals but the issue was I was using normal toothpaste half the time instead of sensitive toothpaste all the time.

I'm not sure why my dentist wouldn't want to take my money, sometimes teeth are sensitive and (hopefully) this is all that's needed to correct it. Sinus infections can cause sensitivity as well.

That makes sense. Stannus fluoride is for situations where the enamel has been demineralized through wear and tear or the eating of acidic foods. Your situation is more a matter of the nerve getting heat/cold b/c of your fillings, and the active ingredient in this product desensitizes the nerve. So it helped.
