Actually this works by sticking to the weeds so the weeds need to be actively growing for this to work. It's not a preemergent.
This contains post-emergent weed killer (2-4D salt) and wont do anything if the weeds arent already grown, wet, and amongst the types which this killer is good for (wont work for woody weeds, crabgrass, and in my case, clover...even though its on the picture on the bag).

IMO, youre better off getting more actual fertilizer from regular turf builder *or any other brand* and then manually spraying weed killer on the offending plants using a pump or backpack sprayer. I spend no more than 5 minutes a day walking around with a pre-filled sprayer and just give any dandelions a quick spray over. Because the spray is wet by design, I dont have to worry about the salt not sticking to the plants.

I also wouldnt worry about what "step" a fertilizer is for. Its the NPK rating which really matters. You will have no issues using "winterizer" fertilizer in the middle of summer. But again, expect to apply your own weed killers (and grub killer, and misc insect killer)
I clearly said need to know lawn type... I live in south and we can use roundup on our Bermudas.

Plus it's a bigger bag at Home Depot and you don't have to pay Home Depot a yearly fee to buy their products.
Our home Depot in Minnesota is still 63 or 40 lb of Scott's

Any knowledgeable person wants to tell me, if I am using pre emergent then do I need a application of this after few months ? This will be my first year doing it myself, as last year we paid lawn company to do this. They did pre emergent/crab grass treatment in April and then every two months they did weed control and a mix of other things which I can't remember.

Depends on the health of your yard. Preemergent basically creates a barrier that will stop seeds from germinating. If your lawn is healthy, you may not need post-emergent (such as this) but there is an easy way to tell. If you have weeds during the growing season you need something like this. Can send in weed samples to your state extension office for identification as well to make sure you are hitting them with the proper post emergent.

Thanks for your reply! Yard in general is healthy but I know last year there was some weed and lot of clovers and I was told clovers are there because of lack of nitrogen in the soil so don't know if this product will help or not.

Nothing kills Bermuda grass, ask me how I know.
Tenacity damages burmuda grass, which sucks because it's a really good pre-emergent that still allows for seeding.

Sure thing! I'm not an expert by any means but there is lots of good info out there on the subject. The choices are a bit overwhelming but you can usually get to what you need if you really go through it. Depends if you really want to spend the time on this subject matter.
Clover can be a bear, and come back worse if you pull it. If it were me I would probably just buy a stand alone fertilizer for the whole yard, and then spot treat what you need with the chemical herbicide. Something like this is a good herbicide for clover and some other broadleaf weeds. https://www.domyown.com/speedzone...-1515.html
Make sure you know if you have cool or warm season grasses before choosing.
Again, I'm not a professional, I just dabble in this and am starting to figure some stuff out.

There are a few things to consider here. Do you have a 15,000 sq ft lawn? Most people don't. Even if you buy more than you need, you could always save excess for next year. But don't think that more is better in regards to doing multiple applications. There may be times you need to, but I wouldn't come out of the gate planning and spending for that.

There are similar products on Amazon if you search for "Scotts annual program" and these will be tailored to different regions of the country. What I usually do is look up these programs to see what I'll need for the year, then be on the lookout for the individual products going on sale (such as this post here) and buy the "program" that way. You can even run through their program planner on their website and it will email you the plan without a need to purchase. This will get you the list of products to be on the lookout for. https://program.scotts.com/

In my experience in regards to this product, weed and feed has never entirely eliminated weeds for me. So I also have a pump sprayer so I can spray them throughout the year as needed as well.

Above all, just remember lawns are fickle beasts and it takes patience and effort to get them in a good spot and keep them there. At times you will feel like you're wasting money because you may not see results in the first year or even second (if you're just starting this adventure). I would say keep doing your research and trust the process and in 2-3 years it should all start paying off for you.

Roundup kills actively growing (green) Bermuda. It is a non selective herbicide. There are Bermuda safe herbicides, search and you will find them.

Cheaper online. It's a no brainer.

Question as I'm a first time homeowner. I have lots of weeds growing, what's the most effective way? Uproot and put this stuff on my lawn?
i was having issues with weeds in my lawn, after some online research found something called crossbow herbicide, saw that some people were finding at tractor supply so stopped by my local store and found one bottle 79.99, sprayed on my front lawn and a section of my side lawn, sprayed late afternoon on a Friday, by Saturday afternoon all weeds were wilting or brownish/dying, lawn seemed fine. used this spayer https://amzn.to/35ouaZu set to 3. word of caution very strong smelling ensure windows are closed and keep pets off. read all instructions on bottle. smells like weed B gon, but works a lot better as I have used that in the past. hope this helps
