Don't get the flip, fancy phone, horrible battery life. Fanciness wears off, but day to day battery usage is what matters at the end. Need to charge at least 3 times a day with regular usage
Yes all Google Fi phones are unlocked.
I wish I hadn't bought into the iPhone hype. Lesson learnt. Now I have to wait a year and switch back. Apart from the battery if anyone is considering switching I would recommend you use one for a week.

Received my S22 today. Although I received a black one instead of the white one I ordered. I think the black looks nicer.

When I bought the Pixel 4a 5g with a similar deal 1.5 years ago I removed the Google FI sim immediately and activated Google FI on the e-sim with my port-in number. I then inserted my Total Wireless physical sim card to use my regular phone number. I kept the e-sim active for 3 months which was what was required by Google FI for that deal. (4 months for this deal) It worked perfectly.

Is this method still working for this deal?
Fi does not support eSIM on Galaxy S22. I've tried and been told by their customer service that in the future yes but right now you can't activate Galaxy S22's eSIM on Fi.

Is anyone seeing the $300 S22 128GB out of stock for all colors? I'm only seeing S22 256GB available in black for $350. Any idea when they get restocked?

The more Ive done research via here and also the Google FI reddit boards the more Im becoming hesitant to remove the Google FI sim and put it in a drawer. Its my understanding that they are strict now, and require the Google FI sim to be active within the purchased device for the the duration of the 120 Days.

More importantly is the IMEI on the order number Google FI account same as what you physically have received?

Oh man, there goes my plan to use the e-SIM with Google Fi and my mvno's physical SIM card at the same time.

I am just curious how would they identify if i removed sim and inserted another one if it not Tmobile? will verizon tell them or att tell them that user inserted their sim in that IMEI? is that info that freely shared? had it been tmobile then maybe as fi uses tmobile as main provider. so unless you put fi sim in another IMEI then I don't know how they'll come to know about another sim in the S22? yes, android may share that info but then wouldn't that be breach of privacy on samsung and google? and fi TnC says to keep the fi active in that phone. it doesn't say you can't use any other sim in the phone. fi is selling the phone, not samsung who would track it other way around.
correct me if i am wrong

Yeah, the Slickdeals thread and Reddit thread say different things. I'm just going to keep coming back here and seeing if anyone updates saying it works or not.

Thank you again for the heads up. I went ahead and cancelled my order for the S22 and immediately placed an order for the Pixel 5a 5g. It still showed the discount for new subscribers so I think I'm good.

Correct. Physical sim with Google Fi active (~$23/mo after taxes x4 months less $20 referral). Use eSim for the carrier of your choice (T-Mobile, AT&T, Verizon, etc.)

Actually I contacted Fi support, they said if I ever leave Fi I would have to pay the remaining balance owed on the phone.

Its all in their terms,

They'll know that the SIM card is offline and not pinging their towers. Not sure what their criteria for checks are as Im not privy to it. Might be once a day check or once a week ...Also, why are people getting their promo voided for putting the FI SIM into another device? Sure its still "active" that way?
