Checkout Fakespot for it. Seems like there is a reason it's $11.

The item itself certainly isn't going to be fake because it is sold from the Vicks Store itself.

Fakespot is only claiming the reviews are fake. Maybe. But look at the reviews on all other websites and they are pretty good.

Fakespot ain't all it is cut out to be.

$55 regular price is absurd.
I got this thermometer earlier on during COVID:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0861SFPM1/

You can see the handle has the same carved out heart/person on it.

Yes $11 is a good price for one of these, but this is just some weird tactic making it look discounted from $55.

No, it'll read "high" or "low" if it's out of range of general body temps

This thermometer technology is intended to read the temperature off of a surface i.e. like a car engine for which they are modestly accurate… They're absolutely not accurate to measure body temperature.

It won't tell you if your computer has a virus 😊 but it will measure the surface temperature. I would look for a device which advertises the range of effective temp readings and degree of accuracy.

I agree they are a guide at best. But nothing more reliable than checking someone's forehead with your hands/lips like parents have done for hundreds if not thousands of years.

To my knowledge A true body temperature reading can only be taken rectal, oral or ear with declining levels of accuracy for each.

Edit: the other scary things about these devices is how during the pandemic they were just fake altogether. Not saying this one is but some of them didn't even have temperature sensors in them. Might be easy enough to verify but it seems something like this is worth spending a little money on if you need one as a degree or two variation can be very significant
