Most things are marked up way above warehouse prices.
Just buying apple AirPods makes this a sweet deal. Thank you.

AirPods Pro: current regular price 174.99

Same day price 179.99. Markup $5 or under 3%.

Discount takes it $129.99 + tax n tip.
I may or may not work for one of the contractor style delivery providers. We're currently testing tipping only payment for orders in certain cities of the US.

If an order has a certain amount of TIP attached to it, the tip will be the full payout only, and we will not be providing additional payment. We will only provide payment on orders where the tip doesn't cover the full order or only a small tip was added, in both cases we will then supplement from our side.

Here's the kicker, we will not be lowering our fees that we charge to the customer or the fees that we charge the business for processing the orders on our platform. So we're essentially taking advantage of the tipping culture to cover delivery, and we're pocketing what we would have paid in today's model.

We have spent millions on marketing "to tip" our drivers, so we can then remove our compensation from the system and make it tips only.

Website is a joke today. Not worth the effort and price manipulating. Maybe if the site gets under control it'll be worth the time and effort.
Now I seem to be logged in as Amy from Fresno, Ca.
I am neither of those things.

Yes what a trainwreck, cart not working and I can see personal details of another user and probably someone can see mine. Instacart is the worst.

Sigh. Guess I should have assumed their website would eventually dump hard when I had a chance to order earlier.....

It's like 15-20% markup on average. I calculated my cart and delivery vs store I am saving $31 (not really 50) but delivered to my home.
Depends on the products, the items I added I my cart I know the warehouse prices and most of these items markup more than 20%, overall, I guess my savings were $15-$25 range,

Just so we're clear, refusing to tip is not an act of valor and justice, holding large corporations and our entire capitalist society to the fire by demanding they pay workers a fair wage. It's exploiting the exact system you're "complaining" about. While it is possible not to use services where tips make up significant portions of wages, I have a feeling most people who aren't tipping don't actually care about changing the system but rather only care about themselves.

Tip, don't use the service, or just admit you're a selfish miser. Don't act like being cheap is somehow a philosophical disagreement and deflecting all responsibility.

So the business you work for is trying to figure out how to make more money. Who would have thought? It's not that complicated: if it's not worth it for the drivers, they'll stop working. If the prices are too high for the customers, they'll stop ordering. If your business can't adapt, it'll fold. Why all the policing over what your company "should" do? Last I checked, we have minimum wage laws.

Costco same day web site since the re-design has been slow and awkward. NO way the bad site could handle a slickdeals surge now.

For the most part, I agree with you when you wrote "if it's not worth it for the drivers, they'll stop working. If the prices are too high for the customers, they'll stop ordering. If your business can't adapt, it'll fold."

However, we all know most companies can and will be shady as hell to save or make a buck, and probably need more policing rather than loopholes. And the minimum wage laws have been woefully inadequate for decades.
