While true,it's a $10 torque wrench. If I was doing something delicate/precise I'd definitely test it first. All you have to do is set it, put it in a vise, and hang a weight a foot from the end.
They're worthless without the old coupons.

.....Omw there to buy more stuff.

I like what ChrisFix did. Get the largest jack stands that you need with NO jack.

I have a QuickJack, so my stands are not used, but when I do use them, I have my hydraulic floor jack as a backup on a pinch weld (and if you take off a tire, throw that under, too).

the shipping provided by fedex is absolutely awful on this, which has been giving inaccurate and slow updates for a week now. it originally said that the order was going to come in five days ago. then it suddenly started showing a 2-3 day delay. now it's going to be here next week. meanwhile this product has been shipped 3-4 states away from me. this shouldn't have taken them more than 2-3 days from original shipping date.

I can never buy the right size gloves. I buy medium and they turn to be small size, I buy large and they are too large. Is there a way to tell what size are these HF gloves? Price is tempting.

Not quite, he was responsible for cutting the quality assurance budget too far (essentially a team that spot checks the hardware China makes for them) to increase profits. He then back tracked after the recall on the recalled jack stands realizing the wave of lawsuits cost more than the initial cost cutting attempt.
do you remember when the i-phone was lowing up, how many CEO's did apple replace . . .

so the HF CEO learned a valuable lesson "do not cut the budget too far"

I would say these run just a tad small. I wear XL gloves and ordered these gloves in an XL. They fit more like a large but since they are latex and stretch they'll be fine. The 5 mil gloves on sale are light duty and work fine for easier tasks but will rip if pushed much.

I also have their 7mil and 9mil gloves which are super tough and highly recommended but you will get 50 pair in those boxes. those are great for working on cars, etc.. I bought the 5 mil for lighter duty work to save my 7 and 9 mil gloves for heavier tasks.

If you have the setup, can you provide feedback on how good these are?
I've never tested mine because I've never needed to do work that delicate. However there are plenty of review of these on YouTube and they seem to be generally fine. But it's harbor freight so you know. Quality control.

All you have to do is fix the end, set it for a weight and hang that weight out a foot. Or half that weight at 2 feet. Etc. It should click with a little pressure. If its off it probably useable you just have to factor in the offset, but if it's new I'd take it back under warranty.

When a torque wrench fails to noticeably click, the accuracy of it's setting is irrelevant.

USA sizing conventions suck. What does s, m, l, xl really mean? Why can't we just state dimensions like the rest of the world? Same with shoe size.

I would never put my life in the hands of harbor freight jack stands. They don't have many bad reviews because the one-star reviewers died when the jack stands failed.

Thanks, will follow the storage tip going forward. Overall, it gets the job done. You can't find anything else in this price range. I have 1/2" already and quite happy with it. Grabbed 1/4" today, 3/8" was oos Frown

Quick question, can you use any coupons on top of these sale prices?
Ask for a raincheck. That is what I did. Other coupons do not stack.

First of all this posting is not about jack stands, 2nd of all, no one is forcing anyone to buy their products and finally, can you prove your allegation? Yes, there was a recall so do millions of other products everyday. If you know how design & manufacturing works, that's how you improve things iteratively. No one can get everything right the first time. Failure is not accepting the mistake and not fixing it.

To be fair here, you probably can't tell where the downvotes came from and the options available when they clicked. I have noticed if I downvotes on the app it gives me the option to choose why I downvoted. If I downvote in a browser I don't think I get the option. If I don't get the option, but it still has to tell you why, then maybe that's what you saw?

Slickdeals is very inconsistent in my experience with our experiences. I was in a thread where someone claimed a FP deal only had like 2 buyers and said everyone who was upvoting were paid. I asked what they were talking about and they said right below the picture there was a banner saying how many bought. I posted a screenshot showing it did not exist for me, that I was in chrome, and asked if they had a Slickdeals plugin installed or something. They rage quit calling me an idiot because 'its right there!'

But I expect these things from SD now and don't try to make sense or fight them.
I never believed that until I received a letter several days ago from a seller on here that if I gave them a positive rating with a picture of the item-they would give me a $50 Amazon gift card credit. That's the 1st time I have had that happen but if sellers are doing that then they may have inaccurate ratings.

That is awesome!

Since most stands were made similar with single catch, the expansion to all now allows an upgrade to a double lock. The only question is if say, for the 6 ton, is the store credit $59.99 per jack stand? Right now, a pair is $74.99. Thanks... that was a helpful and a Rep....

Are their tool storage drawers and carts any good?
I have one of the carts. I like it. It's sturdy and decently built. The drawer liner foam it comes with is crappy but you can buy a roll and replace with something nicer. It doesn't have a name brand that shows off how much money I spent on it so my brother in law makes fun of it. I just can't see paying 2-3 x the price for a box to hold some tools

Unfortunately the lower QC doesn't guarantee they will remain accurate---the results are good for that test, but you roll the dice going forward--more with HF than with a better quality tool. That being said, they are a great value for non-critical tasks--I have all three sizes of the clickers. For oil changes/tire rotations, they're fine for torqueing the drain plug and lug nuts. Used them on fasteners when changing shocks, brakes, etc. They may not be dead-on, but if they're not abused and you store them properly they will be closer than guessing with your calibrated wrist.

I'll use my beam type wrenches for anything that I want relatively precise, but the HF clickers are perfectly fine for situations where close is good enough.
