Bought a beverage which rang up to $5.92 and paid with PayPal on the app.

Coupon for the free cup appeared immediately.

Was able to get a hot reusable cup immediately using that coupon.

The cup is cheap plastic Made in China stuff. It is top rack dishwasher safe and is microwaveable. The lid is not microwaveable as stated at the bottom of the cup.

Somehow these cheap plastic stuff made overseas never have supply chain issues. 🤔

That's what I saw too, but I selected $10 and it only charged me $5 and loaded $5…🤷

Edit: it added another $5 for free and I have an email from paypal saying it was a special offer for $5 bonus for Starbucks reload.

So I really spent $5 for $10 Starbucks card and a reusable cup!

I have the $5 Paypal offer in my Paypal Wallet (Get $10 reload for $5), but when I go to the Starbucks app and try to reload $10 using Paypal, it says "We're unable to process payment with the information given. Please select a different payment method and try again." I tried using my laptop to reload $10 but get the error "Something went wrong on our end. Please select a different payment method and try again." I looked and don't think I got an email inviting me to this offer, so wonder if I'm not eligible for this offer or if it should work since I have it loaded in my Wallet. Anyone have any luck or should Paypal or Starbucks be contacted for the $5 Paypal offer to work?

So, I switched payment on my app over to PayPal when paying for my order and there was a PayPal QR screen that was scanned. I found out today that the order was NOT paid through PayPal but through "debit/credit" which I cannot understand, since I did not link a credit card to th eaccount so I don't know how payment was made and neither does Starbucks. The order shows up in my history, and I chatted with them about not receiving the free cup coupon.

Could the Starbucks scanner have gotten a debit card (Google Pay, etc.) payment from my phone rather than taking the payment from scanning the PayPal QR screen on my phone?

I'll prob use this PLASTIC cup once, then throw in the garbage.....


Did you all know Starbucks is going to stop using disposable cups? You'll need to bring in a clean up to use, or put a deposit down on one of theirs.

So now plain coffee, which used to be like $1-2, currently $3.50+, will be prob another +$7 for the loaner cup.

I've honestly just about stopped going to SB. Overpriced for brewed coffee... I don't drink the fancy stuff
