hmm for comparison since i dont keep up my dad just bought a prebuilt cyberpower desktop. he said it cost 1300 but i saw online later for 1399 so not sure if he rounded down or it was cheaper when he bought.. compared to this.

no monitor (biggie)

same rtx 3060, 16gb ram, his is amd cpu dont recall exact model, but i'm guessing similar in league or slightly below this intel.

now, he does photoshop a lot so i wonder if he would even want a curved monitor?

positives, his had 512 ssd and 2tb hdd.

the controversial part, his had gamer leds but rather than being garishh, they are amazing. very large bright and powerful lights, they constantly cycle all shades of pretty colors white,. purple...it's cool, and im guessing at least a little pricey. the case is glass sides and looks very open and full of airflow and dust filters everywhere. this is a dell...looks like it belongs in a office, for better or worse.

It sounds like you don't know too much about computers. CPU differences could account for hundreds of dollars of differences. Additionally,. Cyberpower are pretty to look at, but that's about it. Their prices are usually pretty high for what you get.

If this had a 3070 and at least a 1TB ssd it would definitely be a consideration

idk why they would pair a 'good' CPU with such trash ram

OS ssd is lacking in space and a 1TB HDD is crap in 2022

GPU and CPU are the only "okay" things here. Monitor should be chosen separately based on what you need

seems like a weird family oriented all around basic performer with a lot of weird corners cut and parts that don't make sense

DVD drive??? okay?

Well... a hot issue on a desktop is not the same as with a laptop.
The thermal paste can be replaced and extra fans added or a different CPU cooler added

Well... thermal paste difference is nominal compared to the underlying problem. Adding extra fans to a case with no room for ventilation? Unless you're going to start cutting sheet metal to add a liquid cooler the box will still be hot no matter what air cooler you add.

If you have to apply thermal paste, add fans, and change case on a pre-built, then you can build one yourself with less hassle/money.

Why is the RAM trash? I really have no clue what is going on with it these days. I'm still on 1333mhz ddr3 with my 4th gen lmao.

Strong agree on 256gb being way too small though, especially since a 1TB SSD isn't very expensive. There are way too many 100+ GB games that don't run well off an HDD. You'll fit like two AAA games on it.
