Seems this is the average price at home depot and lowes. Amazon inflated the original price to look like a big discount.

It's less than the chrome option which is typically the other way. Didn't check with the camel though.

Be advised that the brushed nickel does not match other Moen brushed nickel products. I have this and it's more silver than my sink faucet and shower head/kit. The 2 have a slight warm tone/finish to them but this rod looks stainless or chrome.

How does a curved tension rod work? I get it if it's anchored at both ends, but then it wouldn't be a tension rod... The angular tension would just slip if not perpendicular to the walls without a hinge or pivot in the center, right?

There are hinges on both ends of the tension rod, we've a home depot store brand one for a while now and it's never slipped or fallen over the course of 4 years or so
